Edmond Memorial High School
Location
Edmond Memorial High School is located in Edmond, Oklahoma. The first class graduated in 1922, and consisted of 24 students. Since then, the school has moved to several different locations, but there are many 3-5 generation students that are currently attending.
General Information
The mascot of EMHS is the bulldog. They are currently constructing a Freshman academy, renovating the library, and inputing a wrestling locker room.
History
The original name of the school was Edmond High School, because it was the single high school in town. The name of the school changed in 1975 to Edmond Memorial because six students serving in Vietnam were killed.
EMHS has many distinguished alumni including: Paul Blair (athlete), Danny Goble (author), Bill Self (University of Kansas basketball coach), and Charlie Haas (Pro Wrestling Superstar)
Statistics
At the start of the 2005-2006 term, 1987 students were enrolled.
