Prince Peter of Yugoslavia (born February 5, 1980), also known as Peter III Karađorđević, formerly Peter, Hereditary Prince of Yugoslavia (Serbian Cyrillic: Петар III Карађорђевић / Petar III Karađorđević), is the eldest son of Alexander, Crown Prince of Yugoslavia, and Princess Maria da Gloria of Orléans-Braganza. Prince Peter is the grandson of King Peter II.

Education and career

Peter was born in Chicago and lived there until the end of 1981, when he moved with his parents to Virginia. In 1983, he first attended morning pre-school in Tysons Corner, Virginia, and in 1984, he went to day school. In June 1998, he graduated from The King's School, Canterbury, in England, having obtained three A-levels in Art, Spanish, and French, and ten GCSEs. In 1999, he completed in London an art foundation course at Camberwell College of Arts (London Institute). He spent the 1999–2000 year at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). In May 2000, he concluded a series of art programs on the European continent mainly in Barcelona and Seville.

On July 17, 2001, he and the Royal Family took up residence in the Royal Palace in Belgrade. As of 2022, he lives in Seville. On April 27, 2022, prince Peter renounced his title of Hereditary Prince - for himself and his descendants - in favor of his brother Philip, Hereditary Prince of Yugoslavia. The ceremony took place in Seville in the presence of his mother Princess Maria Da Gloria of Orleans and Braganza and Duchess of Segorbe, his stepfather Ignacio, Duke of Segorbe, his brother Hereditary Prince Philip, his sister-in-law Princess Danica, his half sister Sol, Countess of Ampurias, Mr. Ljubodrag Grujic, member of the Crown Council, Chancellor of the Order and the Herald of the House of Karadjordjev and Mr. Nikola Stankovic, Chief of Staff of the Crown Prince.

His godfather was Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia.
