This list deals with football rivalries around the world. This includes club teams who compete in local derbies as well as matches between club teams further afield. It also lists international rivalries and rivalries between individual players.

Brazil Ronaldo 2003-2006 Competition for being "the best striker of the world". Individual trophies heavily contested between the two were the 2003 FIFA World Player of the Year and the 2004 European Golden Shoe. The rivalry peaked in 2006 with both players facing each other in the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA World Cup. [10]
