French School of Hurghada (Template:Lang-fr) is a French school located in Hurghada, Egypt.

It was established in 2004 and controlled by the cultural center of the French Embassy in Egypt. It teaches children from 2 years old with a French curriculum.

Located between the Marriott and Les Rois Hotels in Hurghada, the French School of Hurghada relocated in September 2009 to a new location 15 km north of Hurghada (between the Fayrouz and El Nour compounds) on the desert road towards El Gouna, on 15,000 m2 of land.

The students attending the French School of Hurghada (aka EFH) also learn english and arabic.

Grades

cycle 1

This cycle normally contains the primary phase of education from 3 years old to 5, however the french school of hurghada added a grade "toute petite section" which allows 2 year olds to start their educational journey. In this cycle the main focus is to develop oral language skills as well as social skills.

cycle 2

The second cycle focuses on the fundamental knowledges which are reading, writing, counting, and respecting one another. The grades go from CP to CE2 (6 years old to 8 years old)

cycle 3

The third cycle also known as the strengthening cycle, contains the last 2 grades of what is called "primary" (primaire in french) and the first grade of "college" ("collèges" in french). Therefore from CM1 to 6eme. The main focus is to strengthen and build up on the last 2 cycles.

cycle 4

In this 4rth cycle, the students learn and adapt to a new system with several teachers. They continue to expand in multiple and diverse subjects and they also get to learn an additional language of their choice. At the end of the cycle is the grade called "3eme" where the students prepare all year long the Brevet National certificate ( Diplôme National du Brevet in french).

Lycée

This last cycle and most important is divided in two sections. The first year, called "seconde", prepares the student to chose his field of interest, in the aim for a successful higher education and beyond that a successful professional career.

The second part of that cycle holds the last 2 years of school which are not only focused on the students field of interests but also have common subjects to prepare them for a higher learning educational system.

ULIS

"les Unités Localisées pour l'Inclusion Scolaire" which translates to Localized Units for School Inclusion is a class devoted to special needs students.

The EFH dedicated a class for students with special needs, they can learn at there own speed with the help of specialized teachers and a psychologist. To reinforce inclusion the students spend some time each week with their grade (according to their age), to help promote their cognitive abilities and to limit the difference between students.

The school also has a sensory room which is a room with multiple devices that stimulates all 5 senses, and also other cognitive abilities like focusing, imagining and pronunciation.
