Welcome!

Hello, Msengineer1977, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. A tag has been placed on Benton Academy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable. If you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, article #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Bubba hotep 21:21, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

copyvio

[edit]

You have twice recreated an article using text copied and pasted from http://www.radar04.org/program/index.cgi?paper=318. They have been deleted as copyvio, and if you continue, you will be blocked. Wikipedia encourages submissions about notable subjects, but copyright infringement endangers the project. - CHAIRBOY () 23:59, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dr Charles E. Smith deletion

[edit]

You made a reference to a copyright violation. I actually wrote that particular text several years ago as a student under Dr. Smith. It has been used widely as a short bio used when he presented papers, attended conferences, etc. The IEEE site copyrights everything it publishes (I am also a memeber if IEEE). Can I resubmit the article with a reference to that sight or by re-stating the fact (even though they are already "in my words")?

Howdy! Nope, you must own the copyright because posting something to the project licenses it under the GFDL. If you know the subject, you should be able to write a new, non-infringing article about him. Regards, CHAIRBOY () 00:24, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Msengineer1977!

Hello, Msengineer1977! I'm Clamster5. While creating new and interesting articles is extremely helpful to the Wikipedia project, there are more than 19,000 articles that need to cleaned up. These articles could use your knowledge and time. There are so many pages currently needing clean-up that there is guaranteed to be something that you find interesting. Even fixing up just one is a huge help. If every editor on wikipedia edited just one article each, the backlog would be cleared in no time.

Thanks! Clamster5.

In short the article looked like a copy paste from some sort of promotional material for the school "We believe the school exists primarily for the students and that learning is an individual and continuing process. We believe that the aim of private education is to provide for each child, regardless of ability or environment, the opportunity to develop to his/her maximum potential in mental maturity, moral values, physical fitness, emotional stability, social development, civic responsibility, and spiritual awareness." etc.... We cannot take content copied from other sources nor is Wikipedia a howto guide / advertising location. Perhaps you could rewrite the article in an npov encyclopedialike way? -- Tawker 03:42, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey y'all!

[edit]

We're going to be having our first Mississippi meetup next month, and I would love it if you'd like to come out! A few of us will be staying overnight, so if you feel up to it, we could have a meet and greet that night and then breakfast the next morning and talk about Wikipedia and everyone's areas of expertise. Let's show 'em how it's done Southern-style! Mike H. Fierce! 21:31, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article College Hill Presbyterian Church has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references found several different "College Hill Presbyterian Church"s in multiple locations, there is nothing notable about this one in Oxford Mississippi, nor did I find any one that seemed notable. Fails WP:V and WP:N

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
