Racial transformation

Hi, I had made some changes in this page and even added explanations, but you seem to disagree. Could you please tell me why? Has something I had written not true??? I don't think so, or you'll have to tell me what. So I am gonna change it again, and if you want to talk about it, let's go to the discussion page of the article. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.167.84.2 (talk) 09:41, 16 November 2011 (UTC)

It's not that I disagree with your statements, it's that the way you phrase your statements is not encyclopedia-like. Instead of saying "Is tanning racial transformation?", A better title would simple be "tanning controversy". You have to look at it from a third-person POV, and try not to take such a hard stance. Funnyfarmofdoom (talk to me) 09:47, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
Oh, ok. So if I make changes to have it look more encyclopedia-like,you will let it be? I am sorry if I don't write better, I am French so maybe you could help by changing the style when needed. :)
I am going back to the article, and gonna change it again. If it doesn't sound good to you, please make the style changes for it to sound better. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.167.84.2 (talk) 09:58, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
I have made some changes now, feel free to take a look. As to the facts, I have tried to remain neutral, but some must be said since they are only the truth. I have many elements to prove what I said. For some, you only need to take a look at our society to see that what I wrote is but the mere truth. So if you can help for the style, please don't remove the facts. Thanks again! Elisheva 11:12, 16 November 2011 (UTC)

Re:Savannah Tallest Buildings

Hey, thanks about my new article. It will be very nice of you to take some pictures of the the buildings. I will soon do it for the other largest cities of Georgia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheRedPlanet447 (talkcontribs) 23:12, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

Just so you know, I've remove the BLPPROD notice you placed on Dylan D. Potter, PhD. This is for two reasons. First, it was incorrectly placed on the article so that it generated an error rather than the prod notice. Second and more importantly, the article did have references, albeit in the form of external links. Per WP:BLPPROD if an article has even one source, even if its not properly formatted or is unreliable, then the article does not qualify for a BLP PROD tag. Best, Sparthorse (talk) 08:19, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

Oops, looks like huggle still has an implementation problem with that tag. And I can't believe I didn't notice the references. I don't think they even showed up when I saw the page in huggle.
They weren't obvious. I've now added a regular PROD to the article, since I don't believe the subject meets WP:ACADEMIC. Thanks, Sparthorse (talk) 08:24, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

speedy deletion? why can't we have a page that has the info about our company, not advertising, i'm not calling to action, or selling anything, this was not different than, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kickstarter i just havent added all the other content yet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MauriceLopes (talkcontribs) 08:31, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

The other company you have listed has a track record of funding projects, and has received coverage in mainstream news media. Right now, your company is nothing but a concept. But the deletion is not up to me, it is up to the admin. Thus, you should make the arguement to keep your page on the article's talk page. Funnyfarmofdoom (talk to me) 08:41, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion criteria

I see that you tagged Krishan's Burger for deletion as nonsense (CSD G1). However, the article was not nonsense at all, it made perfectly good sense, and was written in Norwegian. CSD G1 specifically says "This excludes ... coherent non-English material ..." JamesBWatson (talk) 15:30, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

I realize that it was in a different language, and I translated it. If it was written in English, I still would have tagged it for speedy deletion. Funnyfarmofdoom (talk to me) 15:32, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
Yes indeed, and I did speedily delete it, but because it was promotion, not because it was nonsense. However, in this situation many people simply decide that the given deletion criterion is invalid and decline the speedy deletion, without considering whether other criteria apply, so it is worth the trouble of making sure you use the right criterion. hi

I have no idea how to edit or constructively add to Wikipedia, especially on my mobile phone. I just hoped someone could somehow add James Cameron to the list of highest grossing directors. If you click the reference office mojo, he is on the list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.145.170.118 (talk) 04:52, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

ask for help

dear sir/madam: I had written a new article about Della Dingdang, and recelived a message about the information about the decision to delete my article. I am so sad and scared that wheater you would do that. I spent about four hours to complete this article and I felt so proud. Della is my favourite singer and she can sing very well. Are you willing to take about several minutes to have a look about my article and change your mind? — Preceding unsigned comment added by NNU-11-summer (talkcontribs) 09:00, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

A tool for you!

Hi Funnyfarmofdoom! I've just come across one of your edits (or that you have been patrolling new pages), and noticed that you might appreciate some help with references.

I case you're not aware, you might consider using this tool – it makes your life a whole heap easier, by filling in complete citation templates for your links. All you do is install the script:

// Add [[WP:Reflinks]] launcher in the toolbox on left
addOnloadHook(function () {
 addPortletLink(
  "p-tb", // toolbox portlet
  "http://toolserver.org/~dispenser/cgi-bin/webreflinks.py/" + wgPageName
   + "?client=script&citeweb=on&overwrite=&limit=30&lang=" + wgContentLanguage,
  "Reflinks" // link label
)});

onto Special:MyPage/skin.js, then paste the bare URL between your <ref></ref> tabs, and you'll find a clickable link called Reflinks in your toolbox section of the page (probably in the left hand column). Then click that tool. It does all the rest of the work (provided that you remember to save the page! It doesn't work for everything (particularly often not for PDF documents), but for pretty much anything ending in "htm" or "html" (and with a title) it will do really, really well. You may consider taking on Category:Articles needing link rot cleanup. So long! --Sp33dyphil ©© 09:33, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Paramanatham

Hello Funnyfarmofdoom. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Paramanatham, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: sufficient context -- village with district info. Thank you. —SpacemanSpiff 08:28, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Future Tech developments

hi, I just created a page about the people who built my house, as you can probably tell I am very new to this. Im just reading the unambigouos advertising or promotion section from the criteria for speedy deletion. I take it have broken that rule. What sort of content would be needed for the page not to be deleted? they have done loads of work on eco homes is that relevant? or should i just drop this idea Alex.marston88 (talk) 17:35, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Find some news articles, journal articles, books, about this company. But generally companies have a high standard of notability. see WP:COMPANY Funnyfarmofdoom (talk to me) 17:37, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Ancient Furniture

Hello,

My colleague and I are constructing the Ancient Furniture page and believe that it is an important article that can stand on its own. The article is still in progress so please don't delete or merge it now. If you like, I will let you know when we are finished and you can see what you think.

Best Regards,

Hi Funnyfarmofdoom. Thank you for your work on patrolling new pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for Frank Knight (author), a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers and review the criteria for speedy deletion. Particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Such pages are best tagged with proposed deletion, proposed deletion for biographies of living persons, or sent to the appropriate deletion discussion. I contested the A7 nomination here; being a published author is a credible claim of significance so the article should not have been nominated under this criterion. Regards! VQuakr (talk) 08:26, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

Help to complete this page

Dear Sirs This page has been completed by adequate references for each statements; But the system give the warning of deletion; can you please help how it can be proceeded. Thank you in advance, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mabdol (talkcontribs) 08:50, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi! I have given a valid reference. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2776729/ Go to this link. It's an IMDb profile of the person. They have given the name as Udayan and in alternative names they have given the real name ' Uday Ananthan'. Kindly verify. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rainbowsav (talkcontribs) 05:17, 13 December 2011 (UTC)

Doubt

Hi! I have seen that the user Anishviswa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Anishviswa) is leading the other users in to misunderstanding. He is acting like an administrator of Wikipedia. He is keep on changing the page Dam 999 with some hidden intentions. He is just writing his own opinions. Whenever a new section named crew is added , he'll immediately remove that. He is acting offensive about the page dam 999. What we can do to report this to wikipedia. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rainbowsav (talkcontribs) 07:32, 13 December 2011 (UTC)

Dear Funnyfarmofdoom! please change the gear and slow-down the speed of your proposals for deletion of an article on Chaudhry Altaf Hussain - a national-level political personality and ex-Governor of the largest province Punjab of Pakistan. Yours' sincerely, --JC Bills (talk) 05:41, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

I cannot imagine why you thought it had no context and nominated for speedy deletion. It is clearly about a settlement in NSW, though unreferenced. DGG ( talk ) 16:34, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Chorbat - less than a minute, far too quick for A1 or A3. Have you checked the user's contribs to see if this represents a pattern?

Altered speedy deletion rationale: Ohhai

Hello Funnyfarmofdoom. I am just letting you know that I deleted Ohhai, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you. Guerillero | My Talk 05:43, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion converted to PROD: Mater Dei Academy

Hello Funnyfarmofdoom. I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Mater Dei Academy to a proposed deletion tag, because I do not believe CSD applies to the page in question. Thank you. Guerillero | My Talk 05:49, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
