- LOC search turns up no images. The identical image is found on this website. No evidence this orphaned image is from the US government. We hope (talk) 01:32, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Image appears to be quite similar to one on her obituatry here. It identifies the location as Europe in WWII and it is clearly on a runway. Since it isn't indicated as being from a news source, it is reasonable to assume it was taken by someone in the Army's payroll and it could clearly be PD. - File:Technocain.JPG (delete | talk | history | logs).
- Two images of Techno Viking and Herman Cain, no suggestion that they are in the public domain as the uploader claims. Otterathome (talk) 10:48, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Technoviking.jpg (Techno_Viking) . the image of Herman Cain is also a screen grab from a video. I created this composite image in response to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Separated_at_birth#images (which I think is a better image) Why wouldn't this be fair re-use? If you take this down, you will have to take down http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Technoviking.jpg . Or you could just be nice and let wikipedia be wikipedia. --phalseid (talk) 18:32, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I imagine this would be fair use in certain contexts, but fair use images on Wikipedia need to follow certain criteria, for example to be used in an article to illustrate something important (Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria). —innotata 16:07, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Photograph of copyrighted sign which is probably not the author's own work. — Train2104 (talk • contribs) 21:18, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- The sign displays only one element that would be eligible for copyright, the borough seal/shield which was created in 1887 and has long since passed any copyright claims (and even if it were, it certainly would fall under de minimus). The emblem is even washed out, so the de minimus concept applies even further. Since there is no element passing copyright minima, the sign appears PD and a photo of the sign would fall under whatever copyright the photographer wishes.
