Mohan Bhagwat page

Enter 'Mohan Bhagwat' on google's page, and it suggests 'Mohan Bhagwat wife'. Looks like people are trying to find out who his wife is. So I added a correct bit of info that he is a bachelor. And Chandrapur was NOT in Bombay State in 1950 when he was born. Please do not roll back changes if you lack knowledge. There is a question on quora : Is it true that Mohan Bhagwat's daughter has married a muslim. I am afraid wikipedia is full of left-leaning anti-Hindu editors like you who are suppressing proper info about people like Mohan ji Bhagwat. No wonder people from RSS camp are issuing public appeals to people not to donate money to wiki.

A barnstar for you!

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to K. Surendran (writer), without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Tayi Arajakate Talk 06:19, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for help with reviewing submitted Wikiproject: Thailand articles

Dear Padavalamkuttanpilla - Thank you very much for your work on reviewing the Plastics Institute of Thailand article. I have been trying to support the Wikipedia:WikiProject Thailand by expanding articles on government organizations. I believe information on these organizations will be extremely helpful additions to the encyclopedia for wikipedia users. I have submitted some other articles of sister organizations to this one to AfS that are waiting for review. I am specifically having trouble with Draft:Thai-German Institute to which I have far more citations for but continues to get rejected. For a benchmark of notability for these articles, I used their parent organization article, Ministry of Industry (Thailand), and made sure I went much further with the number and quality of citations and quality text. I noted all of this here Draft_Talk:Thai-German Institute. Any further help with Wikipedia:WikiProject Thailand articles would be greatly appreciated. Kudos to your help with creating a great encyclopedia with a wide range of quality articles. --Ian Korman (talk) 00:52, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

Hi Padavalamkuttanpilla. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have temporarily enabled rollback on your account until 2020-09-29. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Anarchyte (talkwork) 16:13, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pending changes reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Ratnakar (BJP Leader)

Hello, I have made changes regarding the use of references as per your feedback. I have removed 3-4 references making a passing mention of Ratnakar and not providing any substantial coverage. I have also added another reference article from a reliable news media source that provided comprehensive coverage of Ratnakar. You still might find a couple of references that do not cover significant information about Ratnakar, but they offer a piece of unique news about Ratnakar that could not be found anywhere else. So, I hope that is okay. I would request you to suggest specific issues if there are any remaining. Looking forward to the acceptance of the article. Thank you.

Edits on Sreejith Panicker

On this article, you have restored my changes stating I removed content without providing reason. I have given reason in edit summary. What is the source for "Panicker is widely criticized for his insensitive comments in Facebook."? What is the source for "He often post misogynistic and derogatory posts in his Facebook page. He replies to the comments in uncivilized manner."? What is the source for "Also he has sparked controversy by posting a facebook post which has communal slur in it about the marriage of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's Daughter."? 202.83.37.25 (talk) 06:31, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
If you want to delete any content from the article, discuss it on the talk page and delete it once a consensus has been reached. Padavalam🌂  ►  08:18, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. New Page Patrol newsletter September 2021

New Page Review queue September 2021

Hello Padavalamkuttanpilla,

Please join this discussion - there is increase in the abuse of Wikipedia and its processes by POV pushers, Paid Editors, and by holders of various user rights including Autopatrolled. Even our review systems themselves at AfC and NPR have been infiltrated. The good news is that detection is improving, but the downside is that it creates the need for a huge clean up - which of course adds to backlogs.

Copyright violations are also a serious issue. Most non-regular contributors do not understand why, and most of our Reviewers are not experts on copyright law - and can't be expected to be, but there is excellent, easy-to-follow advice on COPYVIO detection here.

At the time of the last newsletter (#25, December 2020) the backlog was only just over 2,000 articles. New Page Review is an official system. It's the only firewall against the inclusion of new, improper pages.

There are currently 706 New Page Reviewers plus a further 1,080 admins, but as much as nearly 90% of the patrolling is still being done by around only the 20 or so most regular patrollers.

If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process or its software.

Various awards are due to be allocated by the end of the year and barnstars are overdue. If you would like to manage this, please let us know. Indeed, if you are interested in coordinating NPR, it does not involve much time and the tasks are described here.

Request on 17:32:11, 31 October 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by FalconXFalcon

Hi, my article on "[deals]" was rejected for the topic not being "notable" enough but i would like to argue against the opposite.

Sulli deals was similar to gamer gate wherein women of the gaming community faced targetted harassment. Sulli deals was even more notable in Indian context in that it involved politicians of the highest ranks. More than 800 woman rights activists signed a statement against the app and only few weeks ago there was a protest in Jamia over the issue.

Please rethink about the event not being notable as the wounds of many women are still fresh as ever with new articles on sullideals coming every week or so.

New page reviewer granted

Hi Padavalamkuttanpilla. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 18:57, 6 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback on the draft article

Hi User:Padavalamkuttanpilla! Could you kindly review my submission - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Ruwanthi_Gajadeera and give some feedback to further improve it. In your initial feedback, you have asked to include more references to be notable enough. However, I have cited only independent and reliable sources national and international news outlets. Moreover, I have now included a mix of references where the source states that the subject has won an award and another source is discussing her (e.g. press release from governmental office and a news article regarding it). Could you kindly clarify for me whether this is sufficient or should I remove the press release from the government as it’s only stating that she is the winner without discussing her? Please let me know whether there are other issues as I’m happy to fix them. Sorry to bother you with all the questions this is my first article. Liyamu21 (talk) 03:08, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Padavalamkuttanpilla, did you manage to find some time to look at this draft? I will be much grateful for your valuable feedback on it! Thank you! Hope you have a great day! :) Liyamu21 (talk) 00:09, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bad draftification

[2] You draftifyed an obviously notable article (WP:NPOL). For future reference, don't do this; instead tag it with maintenance tags. Curbon7 (talk) 10:19, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

After further review, the subject actually passes NPOL on multiple accounts (1. provincial governor, 2. member of the Duma, 3. member of the State Council of Russia). This tells me you completely failed to conduct a proper review before pressing the draftify button. Curbon7 (talk) 10:50, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Curbon7, I am very Sorry for the mistake, The article probably notable but there’s no reliable sources and needs to be clean up. So I thought it would be better to come via AFC. As a reviewer you can move it to the main space any time...Thanks-- Padavalam🌂  ►  19:03, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

B7 Media - Re. "Speedy Deletion"

I am really puzzled about your note suggesting the B7 Media page should be targeted for deletion. B7 Media is an award-winning British company - the page now noted to indicate this - with a range of titles on a par with that of a similar company, Big Finish Productions, which also has a page on Wikipedia. Surely the information supplied and the creative cast involved in some of its productions alone should have indicated this?Johnfreeman96 (talk) 15:33, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article was moved from main space to draftspace because of the unrelease of it and suggested me to submit after the film released, The film was released weeks ago. Could you review the draft? Regards Onmyway22 talk 20:41, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your advice

Hi. Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to you! Please share your point of view about Draft:upGrad. It is a properly stated WP:COI about an Indian education company. upGrad is one of the five unicorn companies in India (companies with a capitalization over $1 billion). The draft was declined at the AfC with the comment from the reviewer that it doesn’t pass WP:NCORP. Specifically, the reviewer noted that none of the references are independent and reliable. I wonder if this has to do with an attitude to some particular Indian media. Could it be that coverage at some sources (Business Standard, The Economic Times, Mint and etc.) are not in the list of reliable sources (WP:RSP)? Thanks! Peter. --Bbarmadillo (talk) 19:59, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. New Page Patrol newsletter May 2022

New Page Review queue March 2022

Hello Padavalamkuttanpilla,

At the time of the last newsletter (No.26, September 2021), the backlog was 'only' just over 6,000 articles. In the past six months, the backlog has reached nearly 16,000, a staggering level not seen in several years. A very small number of users had been doing the vast majority of the reviews. Due to "burn-out", we have recently lost most of this effort. Furthermore, several reviewers have been stripped of the user right for abuse of privilege and the articles they patrolled were put back in the queue.

Several discussions on the state of the process have taken place on the talk page, but there has been no action to make any changes. The project also lacks coordination since the "position" is vacant.

In the last 30 days, only 100 reviewers have made more than 8 patrols and only 50 have averaged one review a day. There are currently 808 New Page Reviewers, but about a third have not had any activity in the past month. All 845 administrators have this permission, but only about a dozen significantly contribute to NPP.

This means we have an active pool of about 450 to address the backlog. We cannot rely on a few to do most of the work as that inevitably leads to burnout. A fairly experienced reviewer can usually do a review in a few minutes. If every active reviewer would patrol just one article per day, the backlog would very quickly disappear.

If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}} on their talk page.

If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.

To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.
