Stake.com is an online casino. It is operated by Medium Rare NV, a company incorporated in Curaçao where it holds an online casino licence.[2] It is a global company with offices in Serbia, Australia, Cyprus and staff globally.[citation needed]

History

In 2016, Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani established Easygo, a company which developed games for online casinos.[2] The two helped create Stake.com which was founded in 2017.[2]

In March 2021, Stake.com became the official betting partner for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the Latin American (excluding Brazil) and Asian markets.[3][4] The deal was expanded to included Brazil in February 2022.[1]

In December 2021, Stake.com launched in the UK in partnership with TGP Europe.[5]

In May 2022, as part of Stake.com’s twitch live stream, recent sponsor and musical artist Drake gave $1 million worth of bitcoin away to fans watching the stream. The artist finished the steam with a total loss of $20 million, while Stake confirmed Drake will return for future live streaming appearances.[6]

Offerings

Stake.com offers traditional casino games (such as slots, blackjack and roulette) and sports betting.[2][7] It offers video streams with live dealers.[2]

Users on Stake.com typically do not deal with traditional currencies, instead they deposit and withdraw cryptocurrencies to and from their betting account. Account balances can be withdrawn in the equivalent value of cryptocurrency and then deposited back into the user's personal cryptocurrency wallet.[2] Users of Stake.com's UK site deal only in fiat currency.[5]

Sponsorships

In January 2021, Stake.com signed UFC fighter Israel Adesanya to become a brand ambassador.[8]

In July 2021, Stake.com signed on to be the principal shirt sponsor for Watford F.C. in a multi-year agreement.[9]

In February 2022, Stake.com signed Argentine footballer, Sergio Agüero, as a global representative in a multi-year deal.[10] In March 2022, Stake.com signed Formula One driver Pietro Fittipaldi and his brother Formula Two driver Enzo Fittipaldi as brand ambassadors in Brazil for the 2022 season.[11]

In March 2022, Stake.com signed Canadian musician Drake to an exclusive live-streaming deal.[12]

Stake.com sponsored the Gennady Golovkin vs. Ryōta Murata boxing match which took place in April 2022.[13]

Philanthropy

In March 2022, the company donated US$1 million worth of bitcoin towards humanitarian efforts in Ukraine following Russia's invasion of the country.[7]

In March 2022, the company partnered with Drake to donate US$1 million worth of bitcoin towards the I Promise School after the musician made the pledge to LeBron James.[14]
