In Irish Celtic mythology Fuamnach was Midir's first wife and a witch goddess. When Midir fell in love with Etain and married her, Fuamnach got so jealous that cast several spells on her, but she did not succeed. She could not regain Midir, who could retain Etain as his wife after a series of adventures.
