Mehreen Mahmud mostly known by her stage name Mehreen, is a Bangladeshi singer.
Career
Mehreen was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She is known for her iconic contribution in Bangla Pop. She is a multy genre artist ranging her repertoire from Bangla jazz-fusion-folk to Tagore and Nazrul and other languages namely Japanese, Maldivian, Nepalese, Chinese, Hindi, English. She has been Bangladeshi Idol Judge for season 1 in 2012. She has been musically associated with Ayub Bachchu, Bickram Ghosh, Fuad Ibn Rabbi, Bappa Majumdar, Manam Ahmed, pdt. Tanmoy Bose, Djamel Bin Yellis, Grammy winner AR Rahman. She has recently released a 22 year old song composed by Lucky Akhand 6 years after his demise on 07 June 2022 .[1]
Mehreen's debut album, Anari, was released in 2000, Dekha Hobe in 2002, Mone Pore Tomae in 2004, Don't Forget Me 2006, Tumi Acho Bole 2008, Bondhuta 2018 and singles such as Jajabor in 2019, Prothom Shurjodoy (Mujib's Bangladesh Theme song) in April 1, 2022, Shey Ganeri Pakhi June 7, 2022. [1] Her unique voice and performance style has given the audience signature songs like, "Anari", " Tumi Acho Bole", "Rajkumar", "Cup Kintu Ektai", " Dekha Hobe", "Shunnota", "Dhol", " Aj Ek Notun Din", "E Ki Aloy Rangaley", " Jajabor". She completed her master's degree in English literature from the University of Dhaka, after 3 years Honours. She studied in Viqarun Nisa Noon School and Holy Cross College [3]

She worked as an MC for the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in 1992–2004, and as a newscaster on BTV and national radio, Bangladesh Betar from 1992 to 2000.
Concerts
Mehreen has been performing at all major concerts for more than two decades. Recently she rocked at the 100 years celebration of Dhaka University. She has a versatile calibre to enthrall the audience for hours together with a lovable attitude and unforgettable smile. [5]
