Like the Walrus, I will talk of many things but, on here, I will probably just write about sport and maybe some historical or geographical topics. We shall see.
I come from Blackburn and my wife is from Bury. We're both proud of our Lancashire heritage but......... we live on the other side of the Pennines. I've recently (June 2022) commenced a private consultancy based at home, largely so I can have more leisure time. We live with my wife's parents and my father-in-law is No Great Shaker, but he's currently boycotting the site (unless I need HELP!?). He tells me I must declare a possible COI in case we have the same IP address and I should use his computer and read one of his books and eat at the same table and goodness knows what. I initially supported him in his dispute with WP but he insists I stay out of it and use the site if I want to.
As it happens, my approach to the internet is one of non-confrontation, unless it's an obvious issue like vandalism or disruptive editing, and non-involvement in controversial or negative situations (I get more than enough of those in my career). I'm only interested in building the encyclopaedia by developing articles and I'll happily discuss that with anyone who is friendly and polite. If you should revert something I've done, so be it. If I've made a mistake, I'll learn from it.
