Speedy deletion nomination of User:BinyaminVilni
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:BinyaminVilni requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - And how is a user to 'reply' to a "Speedy deletion" request when he has been blocked from editing Wikipedia? We should spend more time testing our software (WOW, did I ever fire people over this pet peeve: come to think of it, I found the grandiosity of the software engineer more infuriating than the 'incompetence [as I understand it, grandiosity is worse than arrogance but stops short of megalomania]).
- A solution to this problem comes to mind. As far as technical (viz., STEM) fields are concerned, we should establish a rating system whereby corresponding portions of the wiki are protected against editing by random jokers, said protection being rather more fine-grained than all-or-nothing write protection. This rating system would rely to the extent possible upon formal credentials and concrete experience. As far as computer security in particular is concerned, formal credentials are, unfortunately, rather questionable. Everyone and his uncle claims some 'certification' or other or some seat-of-the-pants 'cyber security' degree, the recent proliferation of which would seem to explain why injurious hacks and breaches are accelerating at an alarming rate. My credentials in this field include 25+ years working with the INTEL community, copious kernel engineering for major *IX vendors, and the de rigueur CISSP (one wonders why) and CCP (seemingly rare as hens' teeth).
- I would only speak to this and affine specialties because, despite being a polyhistor—I ghost-write Ph.D. dissertations part-time in more than fifty majors—my formal degrees are in EE and CompE. Bdwilner (talk) 08:14, 16 June 2022 (UTC)
- And, I apologize, but I do get emotional over the struggle to save America from desperately ill-conceived ultra-liberal ideologies—almost as emotional as ultra-liberals get over their inscrutable struggle to turn her into the next Venezuela. Bdwilner (talk) 08:15, 16 June 2022 (UTC)
