Digimon Ghost Game is a Japanese anime and ninth incarnation of the Digimon franchise. The anime adaptation of the series began airing on Fuji TV in Japan on October 3, 2021, replacing Digimon Adventure: in the same timeslot.[1] The opening theme is "FACTION" by Wienners. The first ending theme from episodes 1 to 12 is "Pedal" by Aiiro Apollo. The second ending theme from episodes 13 to 21 is "Datte Kyou made Koiwazurai" by BMK. The third ending theme from episodes 22 onwards is "Hikari Au Mono Tachi" by Bye-Bye-Hand no Houteisiki.
Digimon Ghost Game is distributed simultaneously by Crunchyroll in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the MENA and CIS zones[2] with English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic, Italian, German and Russian subtitles.
On April 6, 2022, Toei Animation announced that new episodes would be airing on April 17.[3]

When the duo and their Digimon partners discover what he is doing, they confront him and his culprits, a pack of Ekakimon and Candlemon. They hear from Pumpkinmon that he is lonely since he stayed from the Digital World, but rejoiced when people put Jack-o'-lantern decorations resembling him and decided to forcibly put decorations on their heads to make them his friends. Hiro's schoolmate and dorm manager Kiyoshirō Higashimitarai claims that he is haunted by ghosts and hoping to ward them off, hacks his way inside computers across the city to install digital talismans. However, the "ghost" pursuing him is revealed as the mischievous jellyfish-like Digimon Jellymon, who forces Kiyoshirō into becoming her partner and converts the digital talismans into malwares that take down the city's online transaction system, which brings them the ire of the dragon Digimon Majiramon and his followers Oryxmon, Quetzalmon, and Rabbitmon. While Hiro and Ruli keep the attackers busy, Kiyoshirō and Jellymon remove the talismans, restoring the system and apologize to Majiramon, who spares them. | |||||

Their investigations lead them to meet the Digimon Sirenmon who attempts to cheer everybody with her music, but ends up scaring people instead. With Kiyoshirō's help, the children and their Digimon make a trap for Sirenmon and confront her, convincing her to travel away in order to perfect her singing. | |||||

Bird owners across the city are attacked by a pack of crows that release the birds they keep. Mika, one of Ruli's friends ask for her help to find her missing sparrow. Certain that a Digimon is involved, Hiro and Ruli investigate the places where the attacks occurred while Kiyoshirō uncovers the pattern behind the attacks, discovering that the next target is a bird sanctuary which keeps many birds of prey who may attack people if broken free. To stop this, the children confront the Digimon responsible, the three-legged crow-like Yatagaramon who is proven too strong for them, until Gammamon evolves into KausGammamon, who forces Yatagaramon to flee. After the battle, some of the released birds return to their owners by their own will, including Mika's, much to her joy. | |||||

Amid sightings of a huge number of monsters running through the road at night, Ruli takes Hiro and Kiyoshirō for a ride in a go-kart track, where they spot Sistermon Ciel stealing one of the karts by Jellymon's suggestion. The children chase after her just to get their Digimon involved in a race for survival against MetalPhantomon, who forces the participants to run around all the night, absorbing those he catches or attempts to escape. Learning that the race was Sistermon Ciel's idea, Ruli deceives her into fighting MetalPhantomon, until an unknown black cat Digimon appears in their way and opens a portal that sends all the contestants back to the Digital World, except for the children and their partners. | |||||

Hiro becomes aflicted with a strange condition that affects his sense of time. While looking for an answer, he joins Ruli and Kiyoshirō in a visit to a library with some rumors of ghost sightings where they meet Bokomon and Bakumon. Their conversation is interrupted when Clockmon appears and attacks Hiro in revenge for his defeat, revealing that he is the one tormenting him. Gammamon makes a stand to protect Hiro and during their fight, a mass of dark energy from Gammamon reflects Clockmon's attack right back at the enemy who is at risk of being deleted by its effects. In an act of mercy, Gammamon evolves into BetelGammamon and uses his powers to revert the effects of Clockmon's attacks on him, saving his life. After the battle, Clockmon reforms, apologizing to the children for the trouble he caused and stays with Bokomon and Bakumon at the library to learn to control his powers. | |||||

Players of a famous online fighting game start disappearing after being defeated by an unknown female character. Koutarou, one of Hiro's close friends is abducted in front of him and Kiyoshirō while playing the game and they consult with Bokomon for info, learning that the kidnappings must be the work of the Digimon siblings Kinkakumon and Ginkakumon, and that the captured players must be contained in Ginkakumon's gourd to be slowly transformed into saké. To attract the culprits, Kiyoshirō plays the game and draws Kinkakumon's attention. Jellymon fights Kinkakumon with Kiyoshirō's assistance but is overpowered, until Kiyoshirō briefly surpasses his cowardice and makes Jellymon evolve into TeslaJellymon, who defeats her. Recognizing their defeat, Kinkakumon and Ginkakumon release the captive players and promise to not abduct people again. | |||||

Kiyoshiro deletes a chain email he receives from a professor he knows, causing a swarm of plant-like Zassoumon to emerge from his video game. With the Zassoumon appearing all across the city whenever someone deletes the chain email, increasing in size from consuming waters Hiro and his friends learn from Bokomon that must stop the Zassoumon before their overpopulate the world. Kiyoshiro opens a lake field in the pseudo-digital world to draw the Zassoumon in, causing them to converge into a giant Zassoumon that Hiro and the others defeat after a tough battle. However, another Zassoumon with a cane appears to them and explains that it was the original Zassoumon. Upon reaching the Human World, it multiplied itself to have a friend, but its clone ran away and began to multiply more and search for water for its own consumption. Zassoumon and his clones leave, saying they wouldn't bother the humans again. | |||||

The service is meant to provide restful sleep beneath cherry blossoms, but all of a sudden, the sleeping participants begin to moan in pain and suffer injuries. Around the same time, Ruli and Angoramon, who participated in the cherry blossom sleep therapy, are attacked by the skeleton Digimon SkullGreymon in their dreams. Ruli is invited to the trendsetter company Scarlatto Vento and encounters Dracmon before he is killed for his defiance by its CEO "Kyogoku Aviel", revealed to be a vampire Digimon named Myotismon who vampirizing women influencers and have them convert other humans. Ruli flees to the roof as Hiro and the others arrive to save her, only to be overpowered by Myotismon’s minions while BetelGammamon is infected by one of Myotismon’s bats. Angoramon crosses paths with his old friend, the egg-like Digitamamon, who lives alone in an empty house. It was only when Angoramon finds him attempting to eat Ruli that Digitamamon reveals his arrival to the human world caused him to develop an uncontrollable hunger for human souls. After a tough battle, SymbareAngoramon is forced to kill Digitamamon.
