SSH Communications Security is a Finnish company that's based in Helsinki and was founded by Tatu Ylönen in 1995. It´s known as an original developer of the Secure Shell protocol. SSH has about 80 employees and in 2006 its revenue numbered 9,5 million euros while the loss was 0,2 million. The company's CEO is Arto Vainio. Biggest shareholders are Tatu Ylönen, Assetman Oy, and Tero Kivinen.

SSH has had several problems with its profitability. For many years it hasn´t been able to make any profit but has been kept alive by its huge assets. The company has announced its goal which is making the fiscal year of 2007 profitable.
