Gheorghe Mironescu

Gheorghe Mironescu was a Romanian politician who served as a Prime Minister of Romania for two times.

In 1930, Charles II of Romania returned incognito in Romania (with a false passport). In the morning of June 7 1930, the Government convened the Parliament in order to cancel the act of January 4 1926, in which Charles renounced the throne. Charles is proclaimed the new king. Prime Minister Iuliu Maniu resigned and a new National Peasants' Party govenment was formed, lead by Gheorghe Mironescu, which made the restoration of Charles II on June 8 1930 and on the evening of the same day he resigned in order for the king to name the government.
