Ray Takeyh is an Iranian-American Middle East scholar and a Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. He is also a contributing editor of the National Interest.

Takeyh has a doctorate from Oxford University (1997). Previously he worked University of California, Berkeley, Yale University, Washington Institute for Near East Policy and National Defense University.
