Emma Raducanu is the defending champion.[1]

Serena Williams is attempting both to make history by equaling Margaret Court's all-time record of 24 major singles titles, and an Open Era record seventh US Open title.

Alizé Cornet is also attempting to make her 63rd consecutive major appearance, surpassing Ai Sugiyama's all-time record.[2]
