Salman Aslam Butt is a Lahore based lawyer & advisor, who was born & grew up in Lahore. He was appointed 31st Attorney General for Pakistan[1] in 2014 and represented Nawaz Sharif Government. He also presented Nawaz Sharif in Panama case.

Early life and education

He was Born in Lahore completed his education from Lahore, after graduation he admitted in University Law College and earned Law Degree of LL.B. then he moved to London to complete his LL.M. from University of London. He joined legal profession in 1982. He is senior Partner of M/s Cornelius, Lane & Mufti (CLM)[2] an oldest Law Firm of Pakistan.[3]

Attorney General for Pakistan

Salman appointed as 31st Attorney General for Pakistan after election of 2013 and remained there till 2016 when he resigned. He appeared in Supreme Court of Pakistan to represent Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in famous case of Panama[4] in which at subsequent stage of the case and after his resign,[5] Nawaz Sharif was declared disqualified from the office of Prime Minister by Supreme Court of Pakistan.[6]

Area of practice

He and his Law Firm CLM deals in documentation, Consultation, legislation, Aviation, energy, Tax and litigation of constitution, commercial, corporate, banking, Insurance, civil, criminal, family, rent matters and all legal matters.[7]
