Tammi Musumeci (b. 1994) is an American grappler, four-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion, and attorney. Born in New Jersey, Musumeci began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu when she was six years old.[1] [2] As training partners, Tammi and her brother Michael "Mikey" Musumeci have won a combined 9 International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation World Championship titles in gi and no-gi competition.[1][3]

After a successful competitive career in the colored belt divisions, she was promoted to black belt in 2013 by Emyr Bussade.[1] Although she was only 19 years old, Musumeci won the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation 2013 World No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship in her first year as a black belt, a feat she repeated in 2015 and 2016.[1] [4] [5] [6] She added two IBJJF Pan Championship gold medals in 2014 and 2017, but her silver medal in the 2016 edition of the tournament solidified her reputation as one of the most relentless and fearless competitors in the sport.[1] [7] [8] [9] After defeating two former world champions to reach the 2016 Pan Finals, Musumeci lost to 8-time gi and 4 time no-gi World Champion Michelle Nicolini in a close match, in which Musumeci refused to tap to an armlock that eventually dislocated her arm.[1] In 2019, Musumeci added her first World Title in gi competition.[10]

Outside of jiu-jitsu, Musumeci is an attorney, having graduated from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2020.[2]
