Praful Shantilal Mehta (born 1938) was an East African cricketer. He played one One day International in the 1975 World Cup.

Praful Mehta, Wicket-keeper and Left- Hand Opening Batsman , played Cricket from 1958 to 1975 for Upanga ( Former Hindus ) Sports Cricket Club Team " A ", played for Tanzania Cricket Team from 1961 to 1975 and played cricket for East Afrca Cricket Team from 1970 to 1975. Praful Mehta was Captain of Tanzania Cricket Team from 1970 to 1973. Praful Mehta of Tanzania Cricket Team played three days Test Cricket Match at Daressalaam Gymkhana Cricket Ground against M.C.C. Cricket Team from England, Captained by Mike Brearley, who latter became Captain of England Cricket Team. Praful Mehta scored 55 not out against M.C.C. Cricket Team and the Test Match was Draw in 1974. Praful Mehta was the only player from Upanga ( formerly Hindus ) Sports Cricket Club Team "A" and Tanzania Cricket Team who represented East Africa Cricket Team Twice to tour England to play Cricket, First in June, July 1972 toured England and Second in June 1975 toured England with East Africa Cricket Team to play First Prudential Cricket World Cup Tournament.
