Gold is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language comedy drama film written, edited and directed by Alphonse Puthren.[1] Produced by Supriya Menon and Listin Stephen, the film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara in the lead roles along with Ajmal Ameer, Shabareesh Varma, Krishna Sankar and Chemban Vinod Jose appearing in supporting roles. The film's music is composed by Rajesh Murugesan while Anend C. Chandran and Viswajith Odukkathil handles the cinematography of the film.

In addition to writing, editing and directing the film, Puthren also worked on the stunt choreography, visual effects, color grading and animation titles of the film.[2] It also marks his return to directing after six years since the release of Premam. The film is scheduled for an Onam release on 8 September 2022.[3]

The shooting of the film was wrapped up on 14 June 2022.[5]

Music

The music of the film is composed by Puthren's regular composer Rajesh Murugesan while also marking his first collaboration with Prithviraj. All the lyrics are written by Shabareesh Varma.

Release

Theatrical

The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on 8 September 2022 coinciding with the Onam Festival alongside a Tamil dubbed version.[6][7]

Home media

The digital rights of the film are bagged by Amazon Prime Video.[8]The satellite rights were sold to Surya TV in Malayalam and Sun TV in Tamil.
