The Shrinking of Treehorn is an 2023 upcoming computer-animated film directed by Ron Howard and screenplay by Rob Lieber, produced by Animal Logic and Imagine Entertainment.[1] The film based on children's book of the same name by Florence Parry Heide.[2]
Premise
Edward Gorey's iconic illustrations are reimagined in this timeless, animated holiday musical adventure. New York City has never seemed so big as when its biggest family is shrunk to the size of action figures and must navigate its snow covered streets on Christmas Eve to find the cure. As the Treehorns journey past the iconic sites of New York City they will come to learn that the family that shrinks together, stays together.[3]
Production
On June 20, 2019, it was announced that Ron Howard will directed first animated film as Imagine Entertainment. The animation would be done by Animal Logic and distributed by Paramount Pictures.[4]
Release
The film was scheduled to be released in the United States on November 10, 2023, by Paramount Pictures.[5]
