Babaji is a generic word in Hindi which means "respected father". Many saints in India are called by this name. The one whom Yogananda refers to in his autobiography can be different from the one whom Govindan is referring to. There are other people who claim to have been contacted by Babaji. Most of them refer to that Babaji whom Yogananda met as his autobiography gives first historical reference to Babaji.
