Making the article more accessible

There's a basic problem in this article of assuming people already know what terms like "sixth form" mean. Actually, if you're not from countries that use this term like myself then you don't know what this is. I have no idea what age this refers to (16, 17, 18). It's a common problem on Wikipedia where people from particular countries just assume the entire world knows what terms like this refer to and then the article becomes inaccessible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.253.162.8 (talk) 10:08, 23 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. Arosa (talk) 02:57, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information repeated twice. Should we merge?

Details on the UK A level reforms are mentioned in the intro and again under the section "current uses." Both are very similar. We should move combine the information (on reforms), in the intro, with the information, under the "England A level reforms," subheading in the "current uses," subcategory. This will means that the information is not repeated. Bigboxman8 (talk) 12:19, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Made changes. Feel free to edit the section on UK reforms (under the "current uses," subcategory) if details are missing. Bigboxman8 (talk) 12:39, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Total lack or references in the national sections

The sections are so well written but must be deleted as unreferenced text! Could the authors protect their work by sharing the references. Top bar of this edit-source editor- press cite, then select Templates tab- and from then on its all done for you. --ClemRutter (talk) 21:30, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

GCE Advanced LevelA-Level – Moved in 2016 ignoring a RM consensus to keep at A-Level (see [1]). A-Level is now a redirect so I can't move the page back to it. — Berrely • TalkContribs 12:36, 12 June 2021 (UTC) Relisting. (t · c) buidhe 05:49, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Five years is a considerable amount of time with nobody objecting, but let's here what people say. Sam Sailor 15:31, 12 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Article name

I appreciate that this issue has been discussed before, but shouldn't the article name be unhyphenated "A level" to match the usage in the lead? It is also the spelling used by the Department for Education If Wikipedia used the correct form it would assist in encouraging the proper usage. And if I'm wrong, then shouldn't the first sentence of the lead and other similar instances in the article be changed accordingly in order to be consistent?
