Alex Sho (アレックス・ショウ, Alex Shō, born May 9, 2006) Is a Japanese-German child actor and model. He is affiliated with the agency Seventh Avenue. [1][2]

Biography

Early life

Sho was born in Los Angeles California, USA on May 9, 2006. His blood type is O.[3] His family consists of his mother, father and an older sister. His mother is Japanese and his father is of German descent.[4]

When Sho appeared on the TBS variety program "Sakurai / Ariyoshi THE Night Party" in 2018, he revealed that he was named "Sho" after popular jpop boy group Arashi member Sho Sakurai. After Sakurai himself asked, (who was one of the host) "I have the same name as you, why did you choose the name Sho?", Sho confessed that his mother was a fan of Sakurai, saying, "Because my mom likes Sho."[5]

Sho has been attending school in Japan since 2020. Due to his activities, he previously traveled back and forth between Los Angeles and Japan.[6]

Career

Beginnings

When Shō was 11 years old he became popular through the internet as his mother opened an Instagram account to upload everyday photos of her son Alex Shō. It became a hot topic with followers, as they found him to have quite captivating looks.

At the last stage of the year 2018, more than 10 Japanese entertainment agencies reached out to him as a scout. Many fashion magazines were inundated him with requests to become a model. Meanwhile, the president of Seventh Avenue, actress Nanako Matsushima(44)'s office, flew to the United States to meet with him and his family. He decided on a management contract with Seventh Avenue because of his enthusiasm.[7]

Modeling

Sho made his runway debut at the “My Navi presents 26th Tokyo Girls Collection 2018 SPRING/SUMMER” on March 31st. 2018.[8] From then on Sho would go on to appear on the 28th Spring/Summer collection on March 30, 2019 at Yokohama Arena,[9] 30th Spring/Summer collection on February 29, 2020 at the National Yoyogi Gymnasium Stadium, 33rd Autumn/Winter collection on September 4, 2021 (live distribution), 34th Spring/Summer collection on March 21, 2022 at National Yoyogi Gymnasium, and 35th Autumn/Winter collection on September 3, 2022 at Saitama Super Arena, My Navi Tokyo Girls Collections.[10] And has appeared in many handshake events and variety shows.

In May 29, 2018, KADOKAWA CORPORATION published Sho's first photo book titled "HAPPY!" and was released on July 26, 2018.[11][12]

Acting

Sho made his acting debute in 2018 in TBS network's remake of the film, Hana Nochi Hare playing the protagonist as a child .[13]
