This is the en-Wikipedia user page of PJvanMill (also known as pjvm, PJvM, or informally as PJ; a "he"). I made my first edit 5 years ago.

languages

[edit]

I am proficient in English and Nederlands. I understand Français and Deutsch.

interests

[edit]

I like the old ideal of the hominis universalis - I have a broad range of interests. I am generally more interested in ideas than physical things, and as such I tend to read and edit mostly articles about concepts, theories and the like. I am generally NOT interested in history, geography or biology.

strengths & weaknesses

[edit]

(self-evaluated, so probably biased in various ways)

strengths:

  • technical stuff
  • reasonable grasp of P&G

weaknesses:

  • sometimes verbose
  • sometimes pretty stubborn

Wikipedia activity

[edit]

In mainspace, I mostly do cleanup work - including making articles more neutral, performing merges &c -, usually trying to make pretty big messes into smaller messes. In Wikipedia space, I'm most active at the cleanup wikiproject, articles for deletion and the wikiproject council.

(to fill in later - there are probably at least one or two articles for which my work would count as a "thorough cleanup"...?)

to do

[edit]
to-do items
  • co-production (public services): neutrality and integration work
  • Karl-Günther Heimsoth: first step is consistently formatting the sources - probably best with {{sfn}} and {{harvtxt}}, {{cite contribution}} was the one I was looking for but couldn't find earlier
  • Adrianne Gonzalez: seems probably notable (?), but promotionally overdetailed, there may be inappropriate use of sources
  • social stigma: needs integration with consideration of due weight, might need clearer distinction between fact and opinion in some places and needs a new lede
  • Lev Vygotsky: improve neutrality and due weight, integrate and balance different viewpoints
  • extended mind thesis: expand with the potential sources, probably include more viewpoints
  • corporatocracy: still a bit of a coatrack, perhaps in the solution no article exists at this title
  • co-creation: make use of more sources, integrate into one logically structured whole
