Director General - Inter Services Public Relations

Major General Waheed Arshad

, Tamgha-i-Basalat was commissioned in Armoured Corps in 1975. He is a graduate of Command and Staff College Quetta, National Defence University Islamabad and Turkish War Academy Istanbul. During his distinguished career, the General Officer has had a varied experience of command, staff and instructional appointments at various levels. He served as Brigade Major of an Independent Armoured Brigade Group and remained on the faculty of Pakistan Military Academy Kakul, School of Infantry and Tactics Quetta and National Defence University Islamabad.

He commanded an Armoured Regiment, both Armoured and Infantry Brigades and a Mechanised Formation. He has also served as General Staff Officer Grade-1 and Director Military Operations at Military Operations Directorate, GHQ. He holds masters degrees in Political Science from Balochistan University Quetta, in War and Strategic Studies from Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad and diploma in Turkish Language from National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad. He is married and has three children.
