The Canadian National Railway blue devils are a General Electric — 8 series locomotive Originally built For Locomotive management services which is a subsidiary of conrail When Conrail was split Between Norfolk southern and CSX transportation 12 of The locomotive management services C40-8W's We're spun off to the Illinois central Railroad but the Canadian national railway Purchased the Illinois central railroad in 1999 the same year conrail Was split At this time the units were in a patched Conrail blue paint job With a white Canadian national noodle logo on the side and a blank blue front and ic Stenciled on the cab however every single Blue devil Had it's own unique variant of that paint job the locomotives were numbered 2455 to 2466 Now it's time for the accident that 2464 in 2012 Was Involved in a 3 way head on train crash Which totaled the locomotive Beyond repair It was later scrapped The other 11 locomotives continued on in service All over the Canadian national system until 2021 In 2021 Canadian national begin retiring general electric — 8 locomotives from the roster which included the blue devils Every blue devil except 

for 2457 2466 2463 2465 These 4 locomotives continued on in service Until 2463 and 2465 disappeared off the face of the earth and 2457 Was sold to Larry's truck and electric But 2465 came out of storage And was used for a few trains in the fon du lac Wisconsin area until being put back in the storage As of 2022 2466 Is the last blue devil in service anywhere
