Fakhr al-Din al-Akhlatti (flourished in the thirteenth century), a Kurdish and Muslim astronomer, from Anatolia, worked at the Maragha observatory.[1][2] He was one of the first elites that al-Tusi recruited to work in the Maragha observatory. His life was in a period contemporaneous with the fall of Baghdad at the hands of the Mongols.[3]
