Disambiguation link notification for October 11
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Clay Johnston (American football), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tackle. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi. I can see that you've been told multiple times about experimenting with Wikipedia articles, and how to do so without actually disrupting an article. Please take the advice above. Your edit to Carl Nassib -- inserting a numeral into a word that was properly spelled, thus rendering a link unusable -- is considered disruptive editing and vandalism.
Please be aware that this message is your warning. You will be blocked from editing Wikipedia if you continue to vandalize articles. Moncrief (talk) 21:15, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

Isaiah Weston moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Isaiah Weston, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:

The article Silas Kelly has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 16:25, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

Low quality stubs.
Hi, please refrain from creating articles in mainspace that are not properly cited using footnotes and seem to be created hastily with no indication of improvement. Please draft these articles first. Additionally, please do not recreate an article in mainspace that was moved to draftspace for being inadequate. See WP:CIR ~XyNqtc 17:25, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

Recent article creations
Hi! I recently noticed you are creating a number of new articles for various players in the NFL. I applaud you wanting to do this, but you need to make sure each page is worthy of creation, and none of the ones you created are. Your page for Shaun Jolly was moved to a draft, and I'd be willing to do this for your other pages, but I feel overall deletion is more warranted. These pages are far off from being worthy of creation, per WP:Notability (people), and likely many will never be fully created. Shaun Jolly is at least on the active roster and could get playing time. Many of the pages you created are for practice squad players with no guarantees of ever playing. Please read up on the notability criteria for creating articles before you create any more. Usually, a rule of thumb is they have to play in an NFL game before they are notable, or have legitimate notability for another reason (likely off the field). Simply signing with a team and making their practice squad does not warrant article creation. Thanks! Debartolo2917 (talk) 06:12, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- @NateDawg652: If you continue to refuse to communicate in addition to creating these articles on players with questionable notability, you may receive a block from editing. GPL93 (talk) 12:20, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- I wouldn't say that "none of the ones" you created should exist, but several are like that. Please make sure that the person has either played in the NFL or has had two+ in-depth articles from different news sources which meet WP:SIGCOV and WP:GNG before creating it. BeanieFan11 (talk) 15:33, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- You also need to put forth more effort into the article creations too. It looks like you are trying to create as many articles as you can as quickly as possible and not paying attention to quality or putting any sort of substantial information in the article. While there isn't a minimum size for an article, we do need more than an infobox, a sentence or two, a couple categories.--Rockchalk717 23:09, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Rockchalk717:, @Debartolo2917:, @BeanieFan11:. Unfortunately, it looks like this editor is neither heading any of our advice nor trying to communicate. If they continue to create borderline notable articles with zero real effort and barely any refs, then an ANI is probably needed to request either a block until the editor communicates on their talk page or a block from creating articles in the mainspace. Best, GPL93 (talk) 15:52, 28 October 2022 (UTC)

I will stop but can you teach me how to do it good and what are the notabillity guidlines for college football players. and how do i cite and cite inline @Rockchalk717:, @Debartolo2917:, {{ping|BeanieFan11}
- I would recommend using Articles for Creation to submit your drafts. Unless the player is an FBS consensus All-American or wins one of the national awards, there is no automatic notability for college football players. You need to establish WP:GNG by citing multiple Reliable sources. Team bios/articles, recruiting and stat profiles on sites such as ESPN, box scores and game reports generally do not count and team-centric blogs & school newspaper articles don't really either although they can be used for verifying details within an article. Also try to find sources that are from major media outlets if possible because an article on a player sourced solely from local newspapers may not be accepted. If you'd like to see an example, I recently created John Torchio, which has a mix of sources. He has received localized coverage from his high school days in the Bay Area and from various outlets in Wisconsin, but I don't think Torchio would merit an article had it not been for profiles in two national outlets (the Associated Press and the Athletic). Usually, I try to find at least 6-7 refs before moving an article out of the draft space. GPL93 (talk) 17:24, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- Use Template:Cite web to cite something inline. Using an example from Johnny Johnson III, a reference looks something like this: <ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/2021/08/super-senior-receiver-johnny-johnson-iii-a-consummate-leader-for-oregon-ducks.html|website=[[Oregon Live]]|date=August 24, 2021|author=Crepea, James|title=Super senior receiver Johnny Johnson III a ‘consummate leader’ for Oregon Ducks}}</ref> which produces [1]. If that looks too complicated, just cite the bare url (like <ref>https://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/2021/08/super-senior-receiver-johnny-johnson-iii-a-consummate-leader-for-oregon-ducks.html</ref>) and enter the article in refill.org once you're done, which fills in citations. To pass the notability criteria, a player usually has to have at least two in-depth articles from independent, reliable sources (although sometimes more may be needed). An example of an in-depth article (WP:SIGCOV) would be something like this. BeanieFan11 (talk) 17:32, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- ^ Crepea, James (August 24, 2021). "Super senior receiver Johnny Johnson III a 'consummate leader' for Oregon Ducks". Oregon Live.
- Also, near the end of the article, add ==References== and underneath of that {{Reflist}}. That will display the references in the correct location. You could look at some of my recent article creations if you want to see how it looks in an actual article. BeanieFan11 (talk) 17:41, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- Okay thanks would they be notable say they won one of the confrence awards like sun belt freshman of the year? NateDawg652 (talk) 17:29, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- I don't think so. Maybe for a Power 5 for an overall Offensive or Defensive Player of the Year, but even then you'd have show significant coverage to go with the award. GPL93 (talk) 17:34, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- They probably would be notable (as in-depth coverage is usually given to players with those accomplishments), but you would need to cite significant coverage in order for them to have an article. BeanieFan11 (talk) 17:41, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- I made a page for George Holani can you check it and do some citing if needed NateDawg652 (talk) 17:50, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- Can you cite for Kolby Harvell-Peel I just made NateDawg652 (talk) 18:02, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- Can you cite for J.J. Russell Please NateDawg652 (talk) 15:00, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
- Can you cite for Don Gardner and J. J. Russell NateDawg652 (talk) 14:38, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- Don Gardner (American football) NateDawg652 (talk) 14:40, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- @NateDawg652: We have told you how to cite and recommended you work in the draftspace, but instead you're ignoring our advice continuing to do the same thing and then asking other editors to do the work for you. Please head this advice. GPL93 (talk) 16:33, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- Don Gardner (American football) NateDawg652 (talk) 14:40, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- I'd recommend starting articles in draftspace and working on them there until they're ready rather than just creating articles directly into mainspace. BeanieFan11 (talk) 17:46, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- I have moved both of these to the draft space. PLEASE work on these as drafts, if you do not understand core concepts of editing you should not be continually trying to create articles like this in the mainspace. This will give you time to learn and to improve these articles without the threat of deletion or facing any editing sanctions (such as a mainspace editing block or a block under the Competence is required umbrella). GPL93 (talk) 18:09, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
The article Noah Ruggles has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references.
Waddles 🗩 🖉 00:54, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

Mike Horton (footballer) moved to draftspace - not finished and only primary sources.
An article you recently created, Mike Horton (footballer), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. - Unfortunately, there is not a way technically to block someone from just creating pages. Until you demonstrate your understanding of Wikipedia's notability guidelines, you will have to request edits to articles via talk pages using {{Request edit}}. Eagles 24/7 (C) 13:49, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- How do I demonstrate my understanding NateDawg652 (talk) 14:17, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- You can submit new articles as drafts (see WP:DRAFT for more information) and work with Articles for Creation reviewers to get your drafts promoted to mainspace articles. Once you get the hang of notability guidelines and policies, you can appeal this block either to me directly or to another administrator. Eagles 24/7 (C) 15:48, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
