Bhurit Bhirombhakdi is the 4th generation family members of a Thai business conglomerate family, the Bhirombhakdi; the pioneer of Thailand's first beer brewery; Boon Rawd Brewery Co., Ltd., the producer of world's famous Singha Beer. He is the eldest son of Santi and Arunee Bhirombhakdi, married to Nisamanee (Tong) Bhirombhakdi. He has two children, Nisa Bhirombhakdi and Nakrit (Singha) Bhirombhakdi. He is currently Boon Rawd Brewery's Group Chief Executive Officer who manages the entire empire of Boon Rawd Group's businesses and subsidiaries that totals well over 150 companies. He is also the youngest Group CEO in the Company's history.[1]
Education
Bhurit attended grades school up until the 2nd year high school at Satit Prasarnmit. He then continued and finished his high school education at the Wilbraham & Monson Academy (Massachusetts, USA). He later finished his bachelor's degree under Business Management concentration from the Bentley College, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.[2]
Career
After his graduation at the age of 21, he started helping his family's business as an employee in the brewer tank department as he believed that he must learn the business inside out and bottom up. He needed to know the machineries, the equipments, and most importantly, the people who produce the Company's highest quality products day in and day out. In order to understand deeply in the brewery business, he furthered his education to become a Brewmaster from the Doemens Institute of Technology, one of the oldest and highly respected brewery institutions in the world. Bhurit is the 3rd Brewmaster from the Bhirombhakdi family after his grandfather, Prachuab Bhirombhakdi (Thailand's first Brewmaster) and his uncle, Piya Bhirombhakdi. He later came back to Thailand and decided to intern with one of the world's biggest marketing agencies, Ogilvy & Mather, with the intention to educate and train himself on the sides of marketing and advertising which he believed is one of the very important divisions for the Company.
After the completion of his internship, he rejoined the family business in the marketing department as a starting level brand manager. During his time in marketing, he was able to have a valuable on hand experiences in marketing, sales and distribution of the Company's main product well known globally, the Singha Beer. He then pursued his education in Master of Business Administration with Marketing and Entrepreneurship concentration from Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University.[3][4]
In 2004, Bhurit joined Boon Rawd Brewery Co., Ltd. as the Business Development and Non-Alcohol Products Marketing Director.[5] In 2010, he was promoted to the Boon Rawd Brewery's board of directors. Again in 2016, he was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Boon Rawd Trading Co., Ltd.; the marketing and distribution arms of the Company's world renowned products.
Aside from his responsibilities in Beer, Soda, and Drinking Water products; he was also responsible in founding new and successful products such as LEO No. 8, Singha Reserve, Singha Lemon Soda, Mashita Seaweed, and Purra Mineral Water.[6][7] In addition, he also built many new business relationships and joint ventures such as Singha Kameda (Thailand) Co., Ltd.; world's number 1 manufacturer and distributor of Japanese styled rice crackers, Thai Korean Seaweed Co. Ltd.; the manufacturer of Mashita Seaweed, and most recently, a new joint venture with PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited; to manufacture and distribute new RTD beverages.[8]
In 2018 when startups were sprouting with many new and game changing developments, he founded Singha Ventures Capital Fund [9] which is the Corporate Venture Capital investing arm of Boon Rawd Brewery Co., Ltd. in which he is the Chairman of the Executive Board. In 2020, Bhurit was selected by the board of directors, in addition to his current responsibilities, as the CEO of Singha Worldwide Pte. Ltd., appointed Chairman of the Board of Vara Food & Drink Co., Ltd., and promoted to Executive Vice President of Boon Rawd Brewery Co., Ltd.
Throughout his career within the Company, Bhurit has been one of the key driving forces responsible for the Company's extraordinary growth and expansion. As a result of Bhurit's leadership, dedication and accomplishments; in September 2022, the Boon Rawd Brewery Group's Board of Directors unanimously selected Bhurit as the Group Company's new Chief Executive Officer to lead and to guide the Company forward into the future.[1]
Interest
Aside from his various roles and responsibilities, Bhurit is also an enthusiast and big supporter of various extreme sports in Thailand. He has a long-term vision that through sports, a better society shall be created through new opportunities for the young and talented generations. He is also the current President of Thailand Extreme Sports Association. [10]
