Margaret Lazzari (born 1953) is an American artist and Emerita Professor of Fine Arts at the University of Southern California, Roski School of Art and Design. Lazzari's work has engaged a wide range of subjects in both realistic and abstract styles, including bodies, gender, power, illness, flowers, and landscapes, as well as pure abstractions. She primarily paints, but has also produced audio-visual installations, and public sculptures, sometimes partnering with Lauren Evans.

Exhibitions[edit]

Lazzari has had over 40 solo exhibitions of her work including those at the George Billis Gallery, Los Angeles, at the Fresno Museum of Art, Riverside Art Museum, and Fisher Art Museum. Her work has been selected for more than 70 group shows.

Collections[edit]

Lazzari's work is partly collected in more than 20 public collections, including those of Angel Foundation, Los Angeles, USC Fisher Art Museum, Cathedral Collection of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Kaiser Hospitals, and Huntsville Museum of Art, Alabama.

Publications[edit]

In addition to numerous magazine art reviews, Lazzari has authored or co-authored several popular art textbooks, including: Exploring Art; The Practical Handbook for the Emerging Artist; Drawing; Life Drawing; and Art and Design Fundamentals.

Awards and honors[edit]

Lazzari's honors and awards for her work include a Visual Artist Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, 1995.
