The Planter's Plantation is a 2022 Cameroonian musical drama film directed by Eystein Young. An allegory of neo-colonization, the film is Cameroon's entry for Best International Feature Film at the 2023 Academy Awards. It is one only the 5th Cameroon submission for the award. Set in the 1960s, Enanga, a young girl goes against all odds to preserve a plantation willed to her father by a member of the colonial government. The Planter's Plantation won the Ecran D’or, the top prize at Central Africa’s largest film festival, Ecrans Noirs Festival, the first for a Cameroonian movie in 26 years. It also garnered the festival’s prize for Best Cameroonian Film and Best Cameroonian Actress. Lead address Nimo Loveline repeated her win with a Best Actress prize at the Africa International Film Festival.
