Wikiproject Military history coordinator election voting closing soon
Voting for the upcoming project coordinator election closes soon, at 23:59 on 28 September. A team of up to ten coordinators will be elected for the next coordination year. The project coordinators are the designated points of contact for issues concerning the project, and are responsible for maintaining our internal structure and processes. They do not, however, have any authority over article content or editor conduct, or any other special powers. More information on being a coordinator is available here. Voting is conducted using simple approval voting and questions for the candidates are welcome. The voting itself is occurring here If you have any questions, you can contact any member of the current coord team. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 20:13, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
Your signature and linter errors
Just a reminder that your signature contains obsolete font tags. They create Linter errors, and it is advised that you change your signature to [[User:Jojhutton|<span style="color:#A81933;">JOJ</span>]] [[User talk:Jojhutton|Hutton]]
ASAP.
The purpose of this message is because Linter errors affect the way the page looks, and with a lot of errors, the page may render badly. To reduce Linter errors, please change your signature.
If the software doesn't accept my replacement signature, let me know, and if that's the case, unfortunately you may have to change it to something else. Sheep (talk) 18:11, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
- I already changed my signature when someone was harrassing me months ago about it. Unless I've broken a Wikipedia policy or guideline, then I'd appreciate it you'd leave me alone about it. I'm done with you people.--JOJ Hutton 18:17, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
- Please read WP:SIGFONT so you know why to change from font to span tags. Sheep (talk) 19:58, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
- So I guess you made your decision. I'll notify you on your talk page shortly of the ANI thread once I file the report, since you decided to once again modify my signature without my permission.--JOJ Hutton 20:02, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
- They are causing font tag Linter errors which is why you need to change your sig to my replacement sig so that I don't have to modify it again. Please read WP:SIGFONT so you know why this is the case. Sheep (talk) 20:24, 30 October 2022 (UTC)

- @Jojhutton: You're effectively breaking a guideline — WP:SIGFONT. Your signature causes Linter errors because it contains deprecated/obsolete HTML code for which popular browsers may drop support at their discretion; this causes errors. Sheep showed you how to change your signature to be compliant. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't look any different either. Sheep may be wrong for modifying your signature without your consent, but in my opinion this could have easily been solved by taking a minute (at the most) to honor SIGFONT instead of an ANI report. - As a simple observer, I see you're Wikilawyering, which normally I totally stand behind and totally agree that what the guidelines say are absolute. And normally I would support a position like this, but User:Sheep8144402 is in the right via Wikipedia:Ignore all rules, Wikipedia:The rules are principles and Wikipedia:Reasonability rule. --PerpetuityGrat (talk) 21:53, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
