New Talk Page

Greetings, I have made a talk page to discuss the Edmund Burke article which you can find Here. Please discuss it here as it is a semi-public area, where nobody can assume wrongdoing or sockpuppeting. Toast (talk) 16:26, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Summis desiderantes affectibus

Hello, Walter! My two edits to Summis desiderantes affectibus earlier this evening were undoing unnecessary changes by an unsigned mobile user. That person had gone in and changed the correct "bull" to "bill" in multiple places.Kelseymh (talk) 05:24, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ain't it literally "bill" fr? WaIterFord (talk) 13:01, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
but if not my bad, based on initial looking through citations it seemed that the correct word was bill, but if this is not true, my apologies. WaIterFord (talk) 13:03, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It is not. The document is called a _papal bull_, from the Latin "bulla" meaning "seal." It refers to the lead seal attached to the documents in the Olden Days. Kelseymh (talk) 18:00, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay I probably looked at the wrong source, thanks for the clarification. WaIterFord (talk) 20:08, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
