Pendurthi is a neighbourhood in the city of Visakhapatnam, India. The neighbourhood is considered as the major residential and commercial area in the city. It is located within the jurisdiction of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation, which is responsible for the civic amenities in Pendurthi. It falls under zone 8 of GVMC. It is located on the west fringe of Visakhapatnam city.[2]
Demographic
The total population of Pendurthi Mandal is 106,513 living in 24,543 Houses, 15 panchayats. Males are 53,800 and females are 52,713. There is a city in Pendurthi Mandal. Total 26,998 persons lives in urban area and 79,515 live in villages.[when?]
Pendurthi revenue mandal reatained in Vizag city district and 2 mandals from Pendurthi assembly constuency namely Paravada and Sabbavaram were merged in the newly formed Anakapalle district. Pendurthi also has a Community Health Centre,besides Urban primary health centres. It is considered as the most liveable and peaceful neighbourhood of Vizag, because you can reach anywhere in Vizag within 1 hour.

Transport
- Pendurti railway station is located on Howrah-Chennai mainline. Some passenger trains namely Visakhapatnam Palasa MEMU,Visakhapatnam Kirandul passenger,Visakhapatnam Rayagada,Guntur Rayagada passenger,Visakhapatnam Gunupur fast passenger,Visakhapatnam Durg passenger stop at this station.
- 6 lane NH16 (Srikakulam Chennai highway) passes through this area.
- It has a BRTS (Bus Rapid Transport System) corridor from Vizag city. The roads have an extension of up to 200 feet.
- Maddilapalem,Gajuwaka,Waltair,Simhachalam depots run buses to Pendurthi.
- Govt of AP plans to set up tram corridor between NAD X roads and Pendurthi under Vizag metro rail project.
