Remove tag

Did some work on this page. I believe the tag can come down now. What do you think?Jiminycricket55 (talk) 12:13, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Needs Improvement tag went up again

Hi wiki editors, I am anxious to get this article up to the standards of a decent wikipedia article. Please advise what can be done to allay the fears that someone "close to the source" made a large number of edits, and that "original research" was done- since just about every statement has a decent source. Please help me to make this the best article it can be. As for the notability standard, judging by the number of articles that exist about this company and the special role it plays in the development of the Chinese economy, I do believe it is wiki-worthy.Jiminycricket55 (talk) 06:57, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Improving this article

Since I have not heard from the editor who placed the tag about ideas for improving this wiki so that the tag can be removed, I will make the changes to the best of my ability. I am going to focus on the "investment philosophy" section.Jiminycricket55 (talk) 10:07, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Requested changes

My name is Phil and I work for The Foote Group, a PR agency for Hillhouse. In compliance with WP:COI, I'd like to request several changes on Hillhouse's behalf for an impartial editor to consider. Please see below the requested edits. Let me know if you have any concerns.

Requested Edits

1. Requested edit: Add the following to the end of the History section: "In 2022, Hillhouse started its first real estate-focused fund with a total investment of more than $2 billion. The fund was called the Hillhouse Real Asset Opportunities Fund (RAOF).[1]"
Explanation: This would add a large recent fund as a significant part of the firm's history.
Response:

2. Requested edit: Under the "Belle International" item in the "Notable investments" section change "largest women’s Chinese footwear company" to "one of the largest manufacturers in the world"
Explanation: The company is a sizeable global shoe manufacturer, not just in the domestic context.
Response:

3. Requested Edit: In the History section delete: "GaoTeng Global Asset Management, a partnership between Tencent Holdings and Hillhouse, launched GaoTeng Asian Income Fund in November 2018, to focus on investing in government and corporate bonds."
Explanation: WP:UNDUE. I haven't found any quality citations regarding this other than press releases and blurbs.
Response:

4. Requested edit: Trim ("In 2021, it invested in the Chinese sportswear company Xtep.[18]") and add Xtep to the subsequent sentence instead ("In 2021, among Hillhouse Capital Management's investments were JD Health International, Miniso Group Holding, Xtep...")
Explanation: There's no reason to call out Xtep in a separate sentence and it reads awkward the way it is now
Response:

5. Requested edit: Under the "Philips Domestic Appliances" item in the "Notable investments" section change "Domestic Appliance business of Philips” to “global domestic appliances business from Dutch conglomerate Philips”
Explanation: To add that the acquired business was based in The Netherlands but operates globally
Response:

6. Requested edit: In the last sentence of the first paragraph in the Lead, change the order of the offices listed so that Singapore is first, followed by Hong Kong, then the rest of the offices.
Explanation: To order the offices based on their size/significance.
Response:

7. Requested edit: In the first sentence of the third paragraph of the History section, add "the Southeast Asia company" before "Airwallex"
Explanation: To explain the readers where the acquired company is based.
Response:

8. Requested edit: In the very first sentence of the History section add after "Lei Zhang": "interned at the Yale Investment Office, where he first learned about investing there.[2] He founded..."
Explanation: To add cited content that provides more context about the founder
Response:

9. Requested edit: Near the very end of the "History" section add the following bolded text: "In 2022, it invested in Indonesia-based J&T Express, a delivery company,[22] "
Explanation: To add where the acquired company is based
Response:

10. Requested edit: In the "Notable Investments" section add an item on Lifestyles Healthcare to the end as follows: "Lifestyles Healthcare: In December 2020, Hillhouse invested in Lifestyles Healthcare, an Australian global manufacturer of sexual wellness products.[3] The company entered the Chinese market in 2006 after acquiring Jissbon.[3]"
Explanation: Adding another notable investment to make the section more complete
Response:

11. Requested edit: In the "Notable Investments" section add an item on Gimborn as follows: "Gimborn: Founded in 1855 as a chemical-pharmaceutical factory, Gimborn is a German producer of cat litter and pet supplements.[4]"
Explanation: Adding another notable investment to make the section more complete
Response:
