"wearing a facemask"

Is it appropriate to write in "wearing a facemask" to the leading photo of Shane Reti? It's not like he always wears a facemask. Or is it too obvious that he's wearing a facemask that it's not worth mentioning it? Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 03:24, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I’d say that it’s obvious that he’s wearing one and that it’s common these days. Hence I wouldn’t bother. Schwede66 15:54, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thought so. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 02:40, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Obviously, we can't really feasibly get a decent picture of him without his facemask, given the current COVID19 rules and guidelines, so I guess we'll keep the images as is. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 02:41, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, the National Party is absolutely hopeless when it comes to releasing photos with a free license. It's only the Greens and lately Labour that have been helpful. Hence, we'll have to make do with what we can get. Schwede66 09:02, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"role as interim party leader"

@Paora: Shane Reti was briefly the party leader (from 25 Nov to 30 Nov) and he vacated his role as deputy leader to hold that role - this was explictly stated on 25 Nov "In the meantime current deputy Shane Reti is interim leader. The deputy leader role will remain vacant for now. "

https://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/news/politics/national-leadership-judith-collins-dumped-shane-reti-interim-leader-mark-mitchell-and-christopher-luxon-possible-candidates-simon-bridges-considering-leadership/

While it was a short term position, it existed. The decision by the speaker of the house, as the arbiter of parliamentary rules, to call on him as the Leader of the Opposition in parliament has standing and establishes that he was, for a brief time, the leader of the opposition. https://ondemand.parliament.nz/parliament-tv-on-demand/?itemId=222589 - Reti is one of very few Maori politicians to have reached this high level and the only Northlander which makes it significant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EMcnaughton (WMF) (talkcontribs) 05:11, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it should have been edited out of existence per https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Shane_Reti&type=revision&diff=1063825770&oldid=1063810580 — Preceding unsigned comment added by EMcnaughton (WMF) (talkcontribs) 05:13, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@EMcnaughton (WMF): I think that the official website of Parliament is a more reliable source than NewstalkZB. Refer to [1]. In any case, his role as acting leader has not been "edited out of existence" as you contend - it is still discussed in the main body of the article. Paora (talk) 06:36, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
