Evan Edinger (born July 29, 1990) is an American-British YouTuber based in London, England.[5][6][7][8][9]

Edinger is known for his "British VS American" series, in which he compares topics such as exams, healthcare systems, and taxes with guest YouTubers from Britain.[10]

Early life

Edinger went to school at Woodstown High School from 2006 to 2008. He then studied Associate of Arts (Mathematics) at Salem Community College, with a GPA of 3.6. Edinger was a member of Phi Theta Kappa while there; he graduated in 2010.[11]

Edinger studied Bachelor of Arts (Mathematics; Statistics and Operation Research) from Rowan University, with a GPA of 3.71.[11] He began posting YouTube videos in 2010 while still in college.[12] Edinger was largely inspired by the work of Charlie McDonnell ("Charlieissocoollike") and Ray William Johnson. Edinger originally used the pseudonym "naveregnide" (his name spelled backwards) before changing it to his full name.

In 2012, Edinger moved to London to pursue a master's degree. He studied a Master of Science (Actuarial Science) as Cass Business School.[11] After finishing his degree, Edinger remained there to work full-time.[citation needed]

Career

Over his time as a YouTuber, Edinger has collaborated with Dodie Clark, Connie Glynn, Jay Foreman, and others.[10] For a time, Edinger and Clark shared an apartment named "Dovan flat."[13]

Edinger has amassed 632,000 subscribers on his main channel and 132,000 on his travel channel. In total, Edinger has posted over 700 videos across both channels.[14]

In January 2020, Edinger was one of eight social media influencers that took part in the 2020 MSC World Cruise which was planned to be a cruise that circumnavigated the globe before it was canceled halfway through due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.[15][16]

As of May 2020, Edinger was among the many YouTubers financially affected by COVID-19, having experienced a 50% drop in AdSense revenue.[10]

Personal life

Edinger identifies as being on the asexual spectrum, near demisexual.[17] He is supportive of gun control in the United States.[18] Edinger stated on the Victoria Derbyshire programme on the BBC that he supported Bernie Sanders for President of the United States 2016.[19]

On June 13, 2021, Edinger announced he had received British citizenship.[20]

He used to live in the Borough of Hounslow, in west London.[21]
