Recent Changes
I recently changed the page, adding more content and more references. The initial page mentioned the Christlich-soziale Reichsvereinigung (Christian Social Reich Association), which I have removed for clarity, as the only two groups that I have seen regularly mentioned in the founding of the CSVD are the Christian socials and the CVD. That being said, the Bonhoeffer source mentions how the Christian Social Reich Association joined with the CVD to form the CSVD.
I am of the strong opinion that the Christian Social Reich Association is just a name for the Christian social faction within the DNVP. From Google Translate, I could gather that this Source mentions it was formed in August 1928, and included protestant's both inside and outside of the DNVP. However, the source is in German, so I can't say this for sure. The German Wiki mentions that many of the DHV members were part of the Christian Social Reich Association. This seems to support my claim.
Furthermore, Patch (1985, p. 144) mentions a non-partisan "Christian Social Federation" where Patch may have translated Reichsvereinigung as federation. This group was internal to the DNVP, but formed a truce with the CVD, which seems like what the badly translated JSTOR source mentioned. Furthermore, in Patches sources for the federation he does mention the Christlich-soziale Reichsvereinigung.
If someone can read German and clarify the relationship between the Christian Social Reich Association and Christian Socials, that would be great. DishevelledD (talk) 13:04, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
