Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll. is the title for a reality series that premiered on March 6,2007 on The CW Network. The series will take place over the course of eight weeks. The series is a joint venture of Ken Mok's 10 x 10 Entertainment, Pussycat, LLC, Jimmy Iovine's Interscope A&M Records, Wonderland Sound and Vision, and Warner Horizon Television.

The series will follow a group of young women as they go through an audition process to join The Pussycat Dolls. The girls, who will also live together during the course of the series, will be groomed under the group's founder Robin Antin (who is also the series co-producer/creator) and will be put under the microscope as they are judged on their vocal and dancing ability. The winner will join The Pussycat Dolls as the act's seventh member alongside the current six members who will also appear in the series. Portions of the series will also air live.

Reason For Show

Many people have asked why they are finding a new member when only three girls do most of the singing. This is only partly true. You can hear Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta, and Ashley Roberts having solo spots in the song "Santa Baby." You can also hear all of their voices in the live, old, version of "Tainted Love." The Pussycat Dolls say the reason for the search is they believe that inside every woman there is a Pussycat Doll and they intend to find that.

Trivia

• Lead vocalist of the Dolls, Nicole Scherzinger, was also discovered on a reality show; The WB's reality series Popstars, where she went on to a part of Eden's Crush.

• Two girls who tried out for the show but did not make the cut were contestants at Miss Teen USA 2005: Natascha Bessez, Miss New York Teen USA 2005 and Kelli Crossley, Miss Nevada Teen USA 2005. A third beauty queen from the same system, Miss West Broward USA 2007 Chelsea Korka, was chosen as of the top nine.

• One of the girls in the top 9 was on making the band 3 on MTV.
• The House in which they live in is the exact house used in America's Next Top Model:Cycle 4.
• One of the girls in the Top 18, Sandra, appeared in "Cry Wolf" as Mercedes. She is also Jared Padalecki's girlfriend.
