John Guerrera

Why does that name refer to eminem there is no mention of him in the article, just a lyric from "Sing for the moment"

stupid fuck face

Perhaps someone with editing privileges could do something about this 'sentence'.

"He is continuing to work out of the spotlight, including several artists."

Weird Al and Christina

Has anyone ever heard the song "Will the Real Slim Shady Please Shut the Fuck Up" (featuring Christina Aguilera) by Weird Al Yankovic?

I don't know about the reaction, but it slammed Eminem pretty hard...

It ain't Weird Al', it ain't Christina. I thought everybody knew by now. Sabertooth 14:09, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Better Picture

There really needs to be a better picture of Eminem is aidans grahams dad. SOME ONES REPLY no shit there needs to be a better pics of eminem. he is bad to our parents.if our parents think he is bad that is not good. and ja sucks.so does game.--203.82.183.148 12:19, 18 April 2007 (UTC)realist xxxxxx —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.33.79.76 (talk) 03:19, 6 December 2006 (UTC).

Active since 1995

I think that eminem was active since 1995. He made the song "fucking backstabber" with soul intent. That was in 1995 before Infinite --84.60.240.220 10:50, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

No shit but that wasnt a mainstream release or anything everyone had to start somewhere

Eminem's Enemies

Eminem's Wiki NEEDS an Eminem's enimies article. It is the only noticably absent article.

You can also do it, but please write about them and insert appropriate references in the paragraph "Biography". --Baxtaba 18:27, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Well, I'd do it, but I can never find a reliable source, and it might require that Em's page be cleaned up again.
Then do as you think better. --Baxtaba 21:37, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Large amount of redundant Info.

The section concerning his daughter Hallie needs to be cleaned up. Prior to this section, there is information about his daughter that is then repeated again 2 and sometimes 3 times. Almost as if there had been a seperate page on her that was later merged with the Eminem page.

it should probbbaly be moved to later in the article as well

Apple lawsuit/settlement details?

Eminem sued apple for using one of his songs in an iPod advertisement without the proper rights. There was an out of court settlement part of which included the creation of the iPod ad that featured Eminem in 2005 or so. Why are there no details of this incident in the article? Details: [1], [2]. --64.230.120.63 16:28, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Father

Why is there no mention of his father? Tommypowell 18:24, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Very little is known of Marshall Mathers II unfortunately.Eminemfanatic

Actually, there is quite a bit, including a brother and sister Eminem has never met. http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/ESLI2146/mycustompage0015.htm 68.14.23.70 14:44, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Marilyn Manson

Where is the stuff about how he is friends with Marilyn Manson?72.184.201.3 18:00, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

marilyn manson appeared in THE WAY I AM video

We don't need the "emo fag" part. Yes we don't

Proof Tribute

I'm just wondering, why can't we edit Eminem's Page? I have a picture of Eminem's Tribute to Proof from Akon's "Smack That" Video that would be great to use for the section about Proof.

I know I've not got good sources for the picture but it's because I don't 100% understand how the sourcing works. But I got the screencap from a You Tube Video if that helps.

How come it doesn't mention that proof murdered a man. Proof was a scumbag.

Eminem's Tribute to Proof in Akon's "Smack That" Video

—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cool King (talkcontribs) 15:21, 6 January 2007 (UTC).

A screen cap from a YouTube video isn't acceptable on Wikipedia, unless the article is about the video itself. Wikipedia strives to use only 100% free-use material, of which a frame from a music video does not count. When an article is specifically about a piece of copyrighted work, such as an individual music video, a frame from that would be FAIR use, and thus marginally acceptable, but it is not FREE use. I'm also curious as to why there is such a large section on Proof's death on Eminem's page. Proof has his own page, just a quick mention, along with a sourced quote, about how Proof's death was considered a major life even for Eminem would make sense. But this isn't a page on Proof, so there is no reason for a two paragraph section on his death. (The guy shot someone to death over an argument over pool, then was shot dead himself. Not exactly someone to admire there.) Ehurtley 04:08, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

u cant be fuckin serious

Moved content: The comment by Ehurtley about admiration (or non-admiration) of Proof notwithstanding, I have removed a substantial section of the off-topic material, as it is already included almost verbatim in the article on Proof. The portions directly relevant to Eminem are acceptable and were left in the article. Please note this does not reflect an opinion either way on the person(s) mentioned in the articles. Regardless of personal viewpoints (or perhaps, *especially* because of personal viewpoints), articles should be rigorously edited to remain on-topic. Thanks dr.ef.tymac 21:58, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Fuck All Y'all Mainstream Release

Someone put this in and I'm pretty sure that is made up. It's not referenced and it seems highly unlikely. BinoChrist 02:27, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Remember, if someone posts a fake album, just take it off. People do it all the time. - Bono

Then why isn't this article protected. Sorry if this is dumb but I'm new to wikiediting. -- BinoChrist 21:53, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Good Aritcle

I think this should be a good article nominee since it is very well written.

Yes, it is well written, but not well tomato sauced.

Mariah Carrey vs Eminem???

-under "remarriage and second divorce" section...

the last line states that they made insulting songs about each other... did mariah really produce any? hmmm... all apologies if this is just something that i'm not aware of... -ks-

Doesn't Mariah deny ever being with Eminem?

Mariah has nothin' to do wit eminem she horror

Video Games?????

I saw that someone posted that he will be in the new Def Jam, and the new GTA. Until we see some evidence for that I'm deleting that bit. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Avenger1000 (talkcontribs) 18:40, 3 February 2007 (UTC).

He is not in Def Jam

Hailie

Uh, is there a reason that Haillie Jade redirects here? They are not the same person at all, and deserve seperate pages. >_> --69.153.142.144 20:14, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Because she doesn't need her own Wiki. Besides, there's an article on Hailie on Eminem's page. 71.53.49.49 02:26, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Protect His Page

we need to disable the abilty to edit em's page just like 50 and the rest of g-unit because obviously there are some eminem haters in this world that have labeled him which such comments as faggot and homo in the first sentence. i tried fixing that before but it was changed less than a couple minutes later back to the bad comments Black Panther7490 03:17, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Mental Release ???

How come

Why isn't this site protected yet. Does anyone know how that works

protection 2

How can somebody protect a site on wikipedia anyway

The Re-Up did not sell as much as the SSLP and it also was not a mainstream release because it was promoting his label.

Personal Wealth and earnings

According to the Jermaine Dupri article Eminem is the 8th richest hip-hop entertainer and according to http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/5933378/u2_dre_highest_earning_artists 19nth most richest earner earning about 19.4 million. Someone should put this up..

Isnt anybody puttin it up??

Poorly written first line

Is it just me, or is the first line of this article very poorly written? It doesn't even mention he is a celebrity/successful rap artist, let alone feature any structure. CombatRock 00:58, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Nope, it's not just you. At least one other person agrees it could use a rewrite. Now what. dr.ef.tymac 01:11, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

No this is not an official Eminem album, it is one of many albums that contain B-Sides, Remixes and unused songs, they are called unofficial albums, usually DJ's or Music Production companies put them together. nor Eminem or Interscope/Aftermath have any hand in making these type of albums.

My Dad's Gone Crazy

Doesn't the song "My Dad's Gone Crazy" from the album "The Eminem Show" feature Hailie Jade? IWM 18:08, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

That was right. I looked for it by myself at D12 board. IWM 08:30, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Recent moves

The above user (IWM) has renamed two albums (the re-up and curtain call). [3] Can someone with more familiarity with the subject check to make sure these are in fact correct moves? Thank you. W3stfa11/Talk to me 14:56, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Copied from my talk page and IWM

Good day sir. You can check the real albums names here: http://www.d12world.com/board/showthread.php?t=243665 "Curtain Call" is named "Curtain Call", not "Curtain Call: The Hits", and so is "The Re-Up". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by IWM (talkcontribs) 01:37, 12 March 2007 (UTC).

I can't access the site without registering. Plus, that is not an authoritative and problably not reliable source. Both allmusic.com and amazon state the name the other way. I'm going to revert your changes. If you can find better sources, please state them on the respective talk pages before moving them. Thank you. W3stfa11/Talk to me 05:10, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
How about this? Eminem's official webstore lists the albums as "Re-Up" and "Curtain Call". [4] IWM 10:01, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Hmm... well his official records page says it's Curtain Call: The Hits.[5] as well as Billboard.com discography page. [6] W3stfa11/Talk to me 23:06, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
OK, look here: [7] [8] I actually think that both spellings are right. IWM 01:28, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Removal of sections

Can someone tell me why there have been full sections removed from the article? That kind of "cleanup" seems a bit brutal... Murdockh 10:08, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

place of birth

The place of birth needs to be cited. At the moment, the persondata info and the infobox do not match. Is it St. Joseph or Kansans City? W3stfa11/Talk to me 17:53, 13 March 2007 (UTC) Kansas City, I've read about it.

I was just about to ask this. I wish I knew.SlimShady6135 05:23, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

We're not in Kansas anymore Toto...

Whoever protected this article

You should probably remove this from the awards section: "2006 - Best butt for a male Rapper from the music video "Lose Yourself". (Lost to 50 Cents Candy Shop)"

Nathan Mathers' future rap career

There was no mention of it earlier so I've put information about it, but we need a citation. S

Quality Control

The first paragraph of the "Family" heading is as far from encyclopedic as possible; I abstained from reviewing the rest of the article. Will someone who has the appropriate information correct this section and ensure that the content of the rest of the article is kept objective and concise? .Absolution. 13:40, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Trivia Section

The trivia section with stuff about Hailie is all unsourced. Should it be deleted? Superior1 23:56, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

I am inclined to say yes. Damn near all the Trivia section is about Hailie, and last I checked this is an article about Eminem, not his daughter. I mean a few facts here or there could enhance the article undoubtedly, but it's dominated by her presence.69.248.173.137 00:24, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Hailie

That shit about Hailie reveals way too much info. Anyone who considers themself to be a fan of Eminem's would know through his music that he wouldn't want anyone outside of family and probably close friends to know that much about his daughter. I bet it must also be wierd for Hailie to go on the internet and find damn near her entire life written by someone who almost certainly doesn't even know her personally. It's not right and it's not necessary. If it's not deleted soon, i'm gonna do it.

Yeah. Do it man. Delete all that about Hailie bc you KNOW Eminem would not want it here. AND you have my vote to delete the whole article bc you know Emineme woud not agree w most of it so until we get approval from him, we should err on the side of caution and just cut all the crap out. When Eminimemem gets time he will write a good article that only has truth and swear words that rhyme with it. RUReady2Testify 01:05, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

I don't know what information about Hailie had been posted here on Wikipedia, but I wish to make some points, and argue that there should be some information about her, not only because she's clearly an important aspect of Mathers's life and an inspiration to him musically, but because she is, despite being young, somewhat of a public figure.
First, the unnamed first poster writes, "...written by someone who almost certainly doesn't even know her personally." More likely, it was written by a bunch of different persons, not just one person, who doesn't know her personally. I would suspect at approx. 99% of articles found on Wikipedia about famous persons were written entirely by persons who did not personally know the person about whom they were writing. How many people who contributed to the John Lennon page actually know John Lennon? How many people who contributed to the Kurt Cobain page actually knew Kurt Cobain?
Secondly, RUReady2Testify writes, "Delete all that about Hailie bc you KNOW Eminem would not want it here." It is irrelevant what Mr. Mathers would want here or not. I'm sure George W. Bush doesn't want certain things written on his Wikipedia page. Wikipedians are not in the business of making everyone feel comfy, but rather simply to provide objective information.
Thirdly, RUReady2Testify writes, "When Eminimemem gets time he will write a good article..." I don't know if you're joking here or being serious. Either way, persons are not really supposed to control what content appears on their own wikipedia pages, unless of course they add something about themselves backed up with some legitimate source.

Its Gone

The stuff about Hailie jade Mathers and Nathan Mathers is gone as it was uncited and was too personal. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 59.92.181.122 (talk) 15:00, 26 March 2007 (UTC).

Family Section

I feel that the family section should be deleted. This is an encyclopedic entry about Eminem....having information about his brother does not belong here. Additionally, the section itself is very poorly written, with a casual tone, no citations, and a non-neutral point of view.--Scotsworth 06:28, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

  • It's common for information about family members of notable to be added to their page because they aren't notable enough for their own entry, but still famous enough for people to look them up. So unless you can find another place for this info, I think this section is the best place to have it. The other problems you mention are things that require cleanup - not deletion. Why not turn it over to the cleanup task force and see if they can fix it up? - Mgm|(talk) 08:24, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
  • How do you feel about moving the link to his brother's article to the see also section (removing the rest of the text) and incorporating some of the info about his daughter in a more suitable tone in his biography section? - Mgm|(talk) 08:27, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
    • I think that would be a great solution, since the information will still be there, because it is important (considering how important Hailie Jade is in Eminem's life and music), but would be cleaner, and more appropriate for an encyclopedic entry. --Scotsworth 09:56, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Picture

What is going on with the main picture? It changes from time to time, sometimes it vanishes, that should be stopped. IWM 13:23, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

That is most likely due to copyright disputes and people's differing opinions on what image to put, and just experimentalism. [Mαc Δαvιs] (How's my driving?)23:15, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
