Requesting to continue using IP of Brooklyn Library

Happy New Year Zzuuzz, I believe it was you who initially granted permission for me to use the blocked IP address of the Brooklyn Public Library system (which is 208.87.232.0/21 (talk · contribs · WHOIS)). May I continue in 2023? I think it expired in November 2022. Trillfendi (talk) 20:00, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again Trillfendi. So I have a bit of a question. This seems to be quite a popular library, and there's been more than one user blocked for using multiple accounts whilst using it, which makes it a bit tricky to analyse. I noticed that there seems to be one other registered account in particular with timings and interests relatively similar to your own, for example sometimes editing the same pages around the same time, though not particularly in a way that I've seen which would violate policy. I wonder if this is something a) you know about b) may be interested in acknowledging, and c) whether you've seen WP:SHARE. There's no right or wrong answer and none is required, but I have to ask, and the answer may be helpful. -- zzuuzz (talk) 22:03, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well that is certainly surreal and the first I’m hearing of this. This is my only account, I’m the only user; I don’t know anyone else in real life who edits Wikipedia and I make no point to tell people in real life that I edit for privacy reasons. So I can say under oath per se that I do not participate in sockpuppetry in any way or share accounts with anyone. I don’t know exactly how IPs work but sometimes I’m using the library Wi-Fi to edit on my own iPhone and use both Safari and Chrome (primarily Safari) and my celular data. As for the library itself, I would say it’s definitely popular it serves a population of over 2.5 million residents but outside of that aspect these are just average libraries scattered through the borough. We don’t have a gigantic central one like in Manhattan. Trillfendi (talk) 02:13, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Surreal stuff sometimes happens, but that's for me to worry about. The block on this range currently expires in about 196 days. You now have block exemption covering the remainder of the block. -- zzuuzz (talk) 06:27, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

LTA

I'd recommend temporarily semi-protecting all of the pages being hit by that LTA since they'll keep coming back for who knows how long. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:26, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

DeepNikita, 13 January

Hi, Zzuuzz. Just noting that I've carried out a long hard-block of 184.183.29.78 (talk+ · tag · contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RBLs · proxy check · block user · block log · cross-wiki contribs · CheckUser (log)), in line with your previous block of that IP. Please adjust with regards to collateral etc if necessary. Thanks, Sdrqaz (talk) 03:05, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, both look good. -- zzuuzz (talk) 08:59, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Suspicious user sandbox

Would you have a look at User:Test32768/sandbox and see if it's U5/G3 (Webhost violation/hoax)? It initially reads as a page deleted banner, but if you click on it, it claims to be an "admin user/pw entry form". Adding to the oddness is that the "date/time deleted" link goes to a Wikia page, NOT a Wikipedia delete log page, and the user it claims deleted this page (Enigma) is a Wikipedia editor, but they have NEVER edited on the English Wikipedia or this page, and has not edited since 2020, despite this "delete" being in 2022.

If you'd rather I submit this through a CSD form instead, I'd be happy to, I just didn't want to tip off the user. This sandbox is the user Test32768's only edits. Zinnober9 (talk) 22:39, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It does appear to be someone testing some styling. In the latest revisions unusual and slightly suspicious yes, but the forms do not allow entry, and the logs are probably made up (at least judging by the log number(s)). It doesn't ring any bells for me. Opinions probably vary about where testing becomes too much, but it's not a forbidden activity. I note that previous versions look legit, so the SOP if it 'offends' would be to revert (though I'm not particularly recommending that). -- zzuuzz (talk) 22:54, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Thank you for the insight. I'd found it due to the divspan flip errors on the page (usually none exist on all of En Wikipedia), but the more I looked at this page, the odder it felt to me, so I backed away. Good to know it doesn't function/allow form entry. It doesn't offend me enough to revert, so I won't attempt that. Thank you, hope you are having a great new year, Zinnober9 (talk) 23:12, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User IP Address block

Hi zzuuzz, I hope all is well? Please help provide block exemption for Ataavi. Kinvidia (talk) 11:45, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Incoherent nonsense

This is exactly why banning an entire range because of ONE person is extremely stupid. I didn't choose it @Zzuuzz:, therefor real users will be hurt. You cannot stop me no matter how hard you try. Rangeban whatever third world country this IP is from, I bet that will definitely improve Wikipedia. 46.114.202.114 (talk) 00:41, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's really incoherent nonsense. You should see a shrink. -- zzuuzz (talk) 00:45, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
