Karl Duncker (February 2, 1903 in Leipzig — February 23, 1940 in exile in America) was an important representative of the Gestalt Theory of psychology. He attended Friedrich-Wilhelms-University from 1923 to 1923, spent 1925-1926 at Clark University in Worcester, MA as a visiting professor, where he received a masters in arts degree. [1] He worked primarily in the field of psychology, however he also had a background in mathematics and phenomenology.[2] Among other achievements, Duncker produced two thought experiments which are commonly taught in psychology courses today. These are the "candle problem" and "radiation problem".[1] He published a number of well-regarded articles on the psychology of thinking, including "Zur Psychologie des produktiven Denkens" (roughly translated: To the Psychology of Productive Thinking) in 1935.[3] He wrote and published at least one complete book, "On Problem-solving." He committed suicide at 37 years of age. Derek Paul Thompson [Born 31/07/1950, North Yorkshire] known as "Tommo", is a presenter and commentator of horse racing on Channel Four. His career began at the age of 18 on local radio and within two years was based in London working for BBC Radio Sport. At the age of 23 Derek was given his big break presenting the Sports Today program on Thames TV. In 1985, he joined as a presenter on the newly-formed Channel Four Racing, a post he still holds today. Derek also commentates for At The Races and appears on talkSPORT Radio every morning. Hakan Gülsün (born 1960) is a Turkish art historian, Ph.D. of Art History at the Istanbul Technical University in Istanbul. As of 1986 he has been a Curator at the Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul. Biography As the son of a Turkish family, he was born in Istanbul, Turkey. He graduated from Istanbul University and completed his postgraduate studies at the Istanbul University under Professor Nurhan Atasoy. He got his Ph.D. at Istanbul Technical Unveristy in the Faculty of Architecture . His thesis was titled "Status Of Dolmabahçe and Çerağan Palaces In the 19th Century" (May of 1999). Works Hakan B. Many people have differing views on Isaac and his voice of vocabulary, the most common view is that he talks absolute crap alot of the time. However, he has come out with a few corkers in his time. He is often referred to as the height of manliness because, well........he is just so mannly and his hair is like Samson's because his super strength is drawn from it. Music Choice Isaacs musical interest is very strange; he likes Classically influenced metal, Viking speed metal, Swedish Underground metal etc.... Stratovarius Kamelot Helloween Manowar Virgin Earth Enslaved Eating habits Isaac likes to eat bacon sandwiches and has a simple way of testing the bacon before eating. This involves standing on it and listening for the "cruunch". Sausage rolls play a major role in Isaac's life, both for eating and betting. He once bet someone a Sausage roll, that he would straighten his hair!! Sports Isaac likes to play squash at the Dome. He isnt very good but relishes the challenge. He has attempted to play Hockey, but again lacks the sporting gene. Isaac's main sport is weight lifting.....well.......at least carrying his school bag which has reportedly weighed up to 120lbs! Sources Melitón Rodríguez was an entrepeneour from Medellin, Colombia that initialted photography's history by taking the first pictures to urban life and people from the 1900's era. He was born in 1875 and initiated his business in 1899 called "Melitón Rodríguez e Hijos". One of his daughers Margarita Rodriguez de Botero lived in Medellin and made Meliton's collection of pictures available to Medellin's public library in the 1980's. March 18, 1784 in Dutchess Cty, New York and died in Odelltown, Quebec, March 30, 1843. He was one of the ten childrend and the second son of Joseph Odell, Jr. and Sarah (Sally) Lewis. He was a Lieutenant Colonel and commander of the Second Battalion Arcadia Militia. During the Canadian Rebellion he was in the Battle of Odelltown on November 9, 1938. The Odelltown Methodist Church, built in 1823, served as a fort and was defended by a six-pounder cannon and 200 of Her Majesty's volunteers. These 200 men defeated the 1200 rebels who attacked them. Lewis married Mary McCallum. Their daughter, Sarah (b. August 6, 1809) married John McCallum a merchant of Isle Aux Noix. Their granddaughter, Mary McCallum married Henry Canfield Odell of Odelltown. Egg logic - apply to reduce Fuel price July 10, 2008 by vinodvv The below mail was forward, I think it is worth a read for people who want to reduce the price of Petrol. If not many, I would like to still support this movement. Wish there was some website to educate people. A man eats two eggs each morning for breakfast. When he goes to the grocery store he pays 60 cents a dozen. Since a dozen eggs won’t last a week he normally buys two dozen at a time. One day while buying eggs he notices that the price has risen to 72 cents. The next time he buys groceries, eggs are 76 cents a dozen. When asked to explain the price of eggs the store owner says, “The price has gone up and I have to raise my price accordingly”. This store buys 100 dozen eggs a day. He checked around for a better price and all the distributors have raised their prices. The distributors have begun to buy from the huge egg farms. The small egg farms have been driven out of business. The huge egg farms sell 100,000 dozen eggs a day to distributors. With no competition, they can set the price as they see fit. The distributors then have to raise their prices to t he grocery stores. And on and on and on. As the man kept buying eggs the price kept going up. He saw the big egg trucks delivering 100 dozen eggs each day. Nothing changed there. He checked out the huge egg farms and found they were selling 100,000 dozen eggs to the distributors daily. Nothing had changed but the price of eggs. Then week before Thanksgiving the price of eggs shot up to $1.00 a dozen. Again he asked the grocery owner why and was told, “Cakes and baking for the holiday”. The huge egg farmers know there will be a lot of baking going on and more eggs will be used. Hence, the price of eggs goes up. Expect the same thing at Christmas and other times when family cooking, baking, etc. happen. This pattern continues until the price of eggs is 2.00 a dozen. The man says, ” There must be something we can do about the price of eggs”. He starts talking to all the people in his town and they decide to stop buying eggs. This didn’t work because everyone needed eggs. Finally, the man suggested only buying what you need. He ate 2 eggs a day. On the way home from work he would stop at the grocery and buy two eggs. Everyone in town started buying 2 or 3 eggs a day. The grocery store owner began complaining that he had too many eggs in his cooler. He told the distributor that he didn’t need any eggs. Maybe wouldn’t need any all week. The distributor had eggs piling up at his warehouse. He told the huge egg farms that he didn’t have any room for eggs would not need any for at least two weeks. At the egg farm, the chickens just kept on laying eggs. To relieve the pressure, the huge egg farm told the distributor that they could buy the eggs at a lower price. The distributor said, ” I don’t have the room for the %$&^*&% eggs even if they were free”. T he distributor told the grocery store owner that he would lower the price of the eggs if the store would start buying again. The grocery store owner said, “I don’t have room for more eggs. The customers are only buying 2 or 3 eggs at a time. Now if you were to drop the price of eggs back down to the original price, the customers would start buying by the dozen again”. The distributors sent that proposal to the huge egg farmers but the egg farmers liked the price they were getting for their eggs but, those chickens just kept on laying. Fin ally, the egg farmers lowered the price of their eggs. But only a few cents. The customers still bought 2 or 3 eggs at a time. They said, “when the price of eggs gets down to where it was before, we will start buying by the dozen.” Slowly the price of eggs started dropping. The distributors had to slash their prices to make room for the eggs coming from the egg farmers. The egg farmers cut their prices because the distributors wouldn’t buy at a higher price than they were selling eggs for. Anyway, they had full warehouses and wouldn’t need eggs for quite a while. And those chickens kept on laying. Eventually, the egg farmers cut their prices because they were throwing away eggs they couldn’t sell. The distributors started buying again because the eggs were priced to where the stores could afford to sell them at the lower price. And the customers starting buying by the dozen again. Now, transpose this analogy to the gasoline industry. What if everyone only bought $10.00 worth of gas each time they pulled to the pump? The dealer’s tanks would stay semi full all the time. The dealers wouldn’t have room for the gas coming from the huge tank farms. The tank farms wouldn’t have room for the gas coming from the refining plants. And the refining plants wouldn’t have room for the oil being off loaded from the huge tankers coming from the oil fiends. Just $10.00 each time you buy gas. Don’t fill it up. You may have to stop for gas twice a week but, the price should come down. Think about it. As an added note…When I buy $10.00 worth of gas that leaves my tank a little under quarter full. The way prices are jumping around, you can buy gas for $2.65 a gallon and then the next morning it can be $2.15. If you have your tank full of $2.65 gas you don’t have room for the $2.15 gas. You might not understand the economics of only buying two eggs at a time but, you can’t buy cheaper gas if your tank is full of the high priced stuff. Lauderdale and Tampa, Florida. During the first half of 1999, the title was also defended in Lima and during later international tours to Peru and Saudi Arabia. This particular website is used on Wikipedia as acceptable source on hundreds other pro wrestling articles including title pages. In fact, there are quite a few that have only this website as a reference. The titles themselves are notable as they belonged to a notable wrestling promotion, in this case Future of Wrestling, and were held by at least one or more notable wrestlers although I can provide additional sources. RFR is a design engineering firm that specialises in the design of complex structures and of sophisticated envelopes, in intimate symbiosis with the physical character of the building concerned. The Chavakacheri Kacheri Crew was the brainchild of Dilani Mohan (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=58006899&ref=ts) and Thanusha Sithirapathy. In search of a way of uniting musicians, dancers and the like, the duo decided to improve on the previous title - Naren and The Gang. Naren was said to be greatly disheartened to the change of name and was unavailable for comment at the time of publishing. However, all members agreed that this was going to be the beginning of great things, with gigs and charitable events proposed all over the Globe. The current members include Dilini Mohan, Dilani Mohan, Thanusha Sithirapathy, Nirosha Sithirapathy, Ayesha Sithirapathy, Jeyasangar Jeyanathan, Sharavanan Jeyanathan, Naren Siva, Suren Siva. However, they are constantly expanding and recruiting new members.
