AFC Cup 2010

[edit]

Could you please explain why the winners of the Singapore Cup enter the 2010 edition of the AFC Cup? There is a chance that a foriegn team would win, so who would enter in that respect? Druryfire (talk) 11:13, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Badminton Super Series

[edit]

Hi, Frankie Goh, thanks for your suggestion to improve the BWF Super Series article. I looked through your link to ATP World Tour Masters 1000. It is not a good suggestion because that page is 95KB, which is too exceeding the page limit of 30KB.

However, your second suggestion is well receive, it should be. Your third suggestion can be done in 2009 BWF Super Series, which i have been done in 2009 BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix. I also want to eliminate the ranking table in article, which do not serve to be useful. So, any suggestion are welcome.

You can doing some test in User:Frankie goh/Sandbox, it is permitted. Thank you. --Aleenf1 13:31, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RE:Suggestion for YOG 2009 Swimming page

[edit]

Thanks for the compliments. I have been quite an "old hand" in updating data on multisports events for several years now, so I am just going to return to Wikipedia after my extended wikibreak just to do something for a Singapore-based event. The said formats are in accordance to the format established in Olympics pages, so it will be good that we follow it accordingly, hence I will be updating the formats in all the other pages eventually. Meanwhile, I am divided on the issue of linking athelete's names as per the reasons you have cited, but the pages for individual countries should be created as notability is obvious.--Huaiwei (talk) 12:39, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just like to drop a word of thanks (and encouragement) for updating all those details in the Swimming at the 2009 Asian Youth Games. Its such a mind-numbing thing to do that I put it off till after the competition, but you managed to pick up the slack! Cheers! :D--Huaiwei (talk) 12:03, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I think we can certainly work together in some way, but in the meantime, I think you would have realised I am having issues in Table tennis at the 2009 Asian Youth Games when there is someone constantly reverting my efforts to ensure that page conforms to the standard presentation format as per other multi-sport events. In fact, all of our current articles now fit that standard except for the FIFA33 one which he was editing too. So I would need your assistance to weigh in on the issue and provide your opinion on this one, as we do need a concensus to move on. Your view will have to count since there are only three active editors, so do drop a note here if you can: User_talk:Mohsen1248#Regarding_AYG_2009_presentation_formats. I will have to consider intiating disciplinary action if he disregards the outcome of our discussions there. Thanks loads!--Huaiwei (talk) 08:15, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks indeed! I hope this impasse can be cleared, else it is going to hold me back on improving the Table Tennis page (there is another template which can be applied to add summary details for team events, but I dare not spend time and energy on it while this keeps going on). Meanwhile, I am practically updating the article live as I watch the match proceedings on TV!--Huaiwei (talk) 08:57, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dude I think we are both editing the same page at the same time, so maybe you wish to hold off updating the heats info for the time being while I update the results "live"?--Huaiwei (talk) 10:43, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yoz I am done updating the tables. So sorry for holding your enthusiasm back, but well done to the Singapore swimmers!--Huaiwei (talk) 12:05, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

S. League

[edit]

Hi Frankie, thanks for your input on the results section. I think you are correct, we should merge the results section into the main page and make it similiar to the HK league using a scroll bar - this will then keep the page compact - i think your also right in that one day it could get deleted, if this was the case, i personally would go a bit mad after all the work thats bene put in!

With regards to the Prime League - it is a good idea and maybe should be written along the same lines as the S League page. But if this does go ahead, just be careful as other users may view it as an reserve league that does not merit any inclusions. Generally i don't know too much about the Prime League, but it could well be worth adding. Maybe link it from the main S Legaue page first and give a little detail of when it started.Druryfire (talk) 16:59, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Message

[edit]

You sent me a message a couple of days ago that began "Hi, Henry...". I suspect you accidentally sent it to the wrong person since my name is not Henry. Singopo (talk) 06:23, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

[edit]

Hey Frankie, thanks for notifying me of that. I've created a table covering the results just in case, although in my opinion detailed results are best, as you had created with your league. SuperSam,, (talk) 17:12, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A-League 2009–10 table of teams

[edit]

Hi There's currently a discussion on the A-League 2009–10 talk page about Squilibob's detailed grid of teams you recently re-added to the article. If possible, can you please visit the discussion and voice your opinions on the matter. It would be much appreciated. Thanks, timsdad (talk) 09:40, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Satria Muda BritAma requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Re: ABL

[edit]

Hi Frankie. Thanks for the input. What you have in mind could also be possible, but there should be a way that come the end of the season the info should be as current including any possible change to the roster by then. I'm gonna keep an eye on the page as well though. Let's make this a collaborative effort. Reyrefran (talk) 14:13, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, this message is to let you know about disambiguation links you've recently created. A link to a disambiguation page is almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. When you recently edited 2012 S.League, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Paul Cunningham (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invite to the African Destubathon

[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of 2009 Indonesia Super Series

[edit]

The article 2009 Indonesia Super Series has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable sports event. Violates WP:Sports event

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 15:50, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 2017 AFF U-15 Women's Championship, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for Deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discusion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
