License tagging for Image:FamousRoma.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:FamousRoma.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:06, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Can you please stop adding this image until and unless you get consensus to add it? Thanks. --Guinnog 21:44, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks but no thanks

[edit]

Thanks for creating the image of various roma people. However, we can not have images in articles that are copyright violations or with unknown copyright status --mboverload@ 21:48, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Misuse of vandal warnings

[edit]

Please do not use vandalism warnings to use as a back-handed attacked against someone you're in a content dispute with. Thanks. --mboverload@ 21:49, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, please don't do that again. --Guinnog 22:01, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I asked you not to do it again and I see you have. That puts me in a tricky situation. Either you are very new here and misunderstand the definition of vandalism, or you are deliberately misusing the vandalism warning. Your repetition of the mistake makes it harder for me to assume good faith. Either way, I am asking you to desist from misusing vandal warnings like this. Why do you really want to remove the image from Roma people? Please discuss your proposed change in the article's talk page first before deleting it again. And, one more time, really, really, don't do the vandal warning thing again. Thanks.

Fair use

[edit]

Thanks for trying to help out our encyclopedia. However, using fair-use images of a person to illustrate something other than their article or work is against the rules. I hope you understand and continue to submit content in the future. --mboverload@ 21:52, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just want to say again, thank you for putting all that work into creating that image. It's just that fair use laws are shitty and don't allow us to use them in that way. I really do hope you continue to help us out! --mboverload@ 21:58, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Editing tip

[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also push the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! - CobaltBlueTony 15:48, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
