Anyone for marmalade sandwiches?

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Economic and Industrial Espionage, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Industrial espionage. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:04, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I saw you attempted to move Industrial espionage to Economic and industrial espionage. Wikipedia has a special tool for moving pages which also moves the talkpage and page history, please use that in the future (see help:moving). Yoenit (talk) 18:19, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion

[edit]

I have reinstated the csd tag on Economic and industrial espionage because you created it by copying snd pasting from Industrial espionage. That is a copyright violation. If you want to move an article to a new title, you must do so using "move": using "copy"/"paste" destroys the editing history and loses the article talk page, as already explained by Yoenit. Also, as clearly stated in the csd template, you are not allowed to remove a csd tag from a page that you have created. Jimmy Pitt talk 19:38, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Industrial espionage a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Consider this a warning, if you keep making cut/paste moves it will be seen as disruptive editing Yoenit (talk) 20:46, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Even if you had followed the proper procedure for moving a page, once an edit of yours has been reverted the worst thing you can do is enter into an edit war to re-instate it. Instead follow the cycle of bold, revert, discuss. If needed you can always ask for page protection or dispute resolution. A discussion has been started at Talk:Industrial espionage#Requested move, you are welcome to participate. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:23, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
