Welcome, Jf1258!
Wilkommen! Welkom! Bienvenue! Benvenuti! ようこそ! Välkommen! Witamy! Bem-vindo(a)! ¡Bienvenido! Добро пожаловать! 欢迎!

Hello, Jf1258, and welcome to Wikipedia!

My name is Will, a.k.a. Willscrlt, one of the many editors here at Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions, and I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links you might find helpful:

The five pillars of Wikipedia   Tutorial   How to edit a page
How to write a great article   Help pages   Manual of Style
Request "adoption" by an experienced editor   Fun stuff...

Some other hints and tips:

  • Since you have created a username, you have the privilege of customizing your own user page, which is here. You can also tell us more about yourself in the new user log.
  • Talk pages, such as yours, which you are viewing now, are the way that Wikipedians communicate and leave messages or feedback for one another. All information placed on a talk page is publicly viewable, permanently archived, and usable by anyone for any purpose. It is a very bad idea to publish secure information or anything you wish to keep private on a talk page, or anywhere else in Wikipedia, because of the openness of the system.
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username and the date.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Another option is to visit the Wikipedia Boot Camp or the Adopt-a-User center, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any questions you have.

I'm looking forward to seeing your future contributions, Jf1258! —--Willscrlt (Talk) 09:07, 22 May 2008 (UTC) 14:07, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Flaming Doctor Pepper

[edit]

Hello. Since you have an interest, I would appreciate it if you would contribute to the discussion at Talk:Flaming Doctor Pepper#Origins, names, and other changes concerning the origins of this drink.

You mentioned that you have access to photographic proof that your bar invented the drink in the 1960s. Please consider uploading the photos to Wikimedia Commons if you have permission to publish the photos under a free license (see Commons' uploading policies before you upload them).

If you can find any other proof that the Ptarmigan Club was the originator of the drink, such as newspaper or magazine clippings, old menus with the name and a description, or something else from a reliable source, then that would be wonderful. We could cite that information, and the claim would be very clear indeed.

Thank you for your help editing the article. I know that you have strong feelings concerning the origins, but please do not edit the origins again until you have some proof that backs your claim. Right now, Gold Mine has the (slightly) stronger claim. Removing that claim goes against the guidelines under which Wikipedia operates with regard to citation of reliable sources. I hope you understand. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Just for the record, I have no interest in this drink other than the fact that it falls under the auspices of the WikiProject Mixed Drinks, of which I am an active participant. Someone like you with bartending experience would be an asset, if you would like to participate, too.

Thanks and have a great day! --Willscrlt (Talk) 09:07, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
