Hi - Question

Hi I'm a undergraduate at Reading University. I see you left a post on User:Rklawton and left the message Sorry for reverting your revert of University of Reading. I've been keeping an eye on this guy, but I guess I waited too long this time to make my move!. The guy you mention, did you mean me or someone else? and if it was me, what did you find objectionable so you felt you had to keep an eye on for? The infomation I have added is excellent for my University on it's halls. Please reply--Tyopbop 22:27, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Actually I'm fairly sure you were talking about some else (User:Cedarash), but can you confirm-thanks?--Tyopbop 22:49, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Don't mention it- friend. Question, are you in Canada and which University did you go to and what did you study (i'm intrested) :-)--Tyopbop 23:11, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Be proud that you are a student, if there were more thinkers in the world, it wouldn't be in the mess it is now. Actually I do have a connection with Canada- I have a Uncle & his family are there (in Toronto). Canadian have a image of being very friendly in the UK and by the way I also love Queen the band :-).--Tyopbop 23:19, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Seriously, would you all just leave me alone. p.s. Tyopbob, do you know Prof George McFly (MEEEE!!!) in biology, Adam Buttery from engineering or Daniel Bray in archeology at the university of Reading? Cedarash 22:17, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

FYI: The University of Reading lists no such person as "McFly" on its staff. Rklawton 03:24, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

RE: References - citations -

I copied the following instructions for listing citations from an AMA web site.

How should an article be cited? An article should be cited using the citation of the final published version. Readers should refer to the final published version when citing the literature because the published version is the fully redacted version of record.

Rolling forward AFD nominations

My view, which you can have for what it is worth, is that there is a certain minimum threshold of effort that the original nominator has to exceed before I'll roll an incomplete AFD nomination forward. Where the sole thing that the nominator has done is slapping a tag on the article, with no indication on the talk page, or even in the edit summary, of a rationale for nomination, I don't personally regard that threshold as having been exceeded. Rolling such incomplete nominations forward leaves us vulnerable to vandals who waste our time with random taggings. Uncle G 10:43, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

This rather looks like a sock-puppet account. Is there anything we can do about banning this user's IP address? He seems to just create new accounts when an old one gets banned. Rklawton 04:14, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

You had marked Timothy S. Sullivan article as copyvio. It is not as it is a work of a United States Coast Guard employee, taken or made during the course of an employee's official duties. Argument from marginal cases

Juanmaiz 21:02, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I would like to know the reason for your edition in the article "Argument from marginal cases". Bye.

Your proposed deletion of Phil Seaman

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Phil Seaman, which you proposed for deletion, because its deletion has previously been contested or viewed as controversial. Proposed deletion is not for controversial deletions. For this reason, it is best not to propose deletion of articles that have previously been de-{{prod}}ed, even by the article creator, or which have previously been listed on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. If you still feel the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article, but feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks!

According to WP:PROD, re-creating an article deleted via prod counts as contesting the prod. Also, someone else who added the {{prod2}} mentioned something about another, possibly notable, person of the same name. Rewriting the article to mention only that notable person wouldn't require an AfD consensus. Awyong Jeffrey Mordecai Salleh 13:21, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Question

Would you like this to be a blue link? It really deserves to be, IMO. A look at your contribs reinforces my opinion. Awyong Jeffrey Mordecai Salleh 13:36, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

I'll second that. SpaceGeorge2 07:16, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Boyfriend Robotique

User:Roderick P. Bruce presented a request for keeping his article Boyfriend Robotique on wikipedia. He posted the message on his own talk page though, so I copy/pasted from the talk page for him an put the hangon template on. (I made note I was taking it from his talk page.) I figured that I should help put his message in the right spot instead of just telling him what he should do. Hope that doesn't cause confusion. -WarthogDemon 02:48, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for stub tip/ Have redirect tip?

Thanks for the tip to the Massachusetts stub tip.

Do you know how to effect a redirect from one page to another? I am trying to redirect from the Museum of African American History to the Meeting House, which already (partly) addresses the museum. Thanks. Alas, I too spend too much time on wikipedia. Are you in eastern time zone? Are you a fan of things Bostonian? Dogru144 18:23, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Merci

Thanks also for the redirect info. Closest I've been to Ontario has been Montreal; but also a rushed trip. We don't get too much Canadian culture here. Sometimes one can find This Magazine. Yes, the Old World charm is a great part of its charm. A few of the old punk clubs have vanished to redevelopment. Dogru144 18:52, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Lou Pearlman's Wikipedia Page :: Help Needed

User SooperJoo keeps removing a highly relevant links and content on Lou Pearlman's page. The only reason he keeps removing the link and editing Lou Pearlman's page is because of his personal hate for Lou Pearlman. As an employee of Lou Pearlman's I can tell you that we have a court order against SooperJoo a.k.a Klaas de Vries Jr that keep him from publishing information about Lou Pearlman (we can send you the court documents if needed). Our legal team is also in the process of contacting the people that run Wikipedia to get a permanent of Mr. Klaas's ip address.

While we wait on our legal team is there anything you can do to help us stop this guy from publishing false information and removing relevant links?

Thanks, 65.14.5.2 20:10, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

As I am not an administrator, there is not much I can do about your concerns with User:SooperJoo. I can only suggest that you have a look at Wikipedia Mediation to see if it might be helpful. ... discospinster talk 01:53, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

List of Hamilton, Ontario Politicians

Thanks for taking an interest in this page. I was a bit offended that you moved the page name without any discussion in the talk page. We are trying to be consistent with the Toronto article, but if you had mentioned it in the talk page we could have discussed it to make certain it was the right decision. At this point, I'm not too concerned as the new name isn't all that different and I"m not certain why they chose to name it that way in the Toronto article. Alan.ca 02:02, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
